man, you nailed that one, ohsixrain. i agree 100%. but i believe what sets this class apart from coach lee's is that broadway is well aware of our apr status and knows it doesn't help us to sign guys who can't get it done in the classroom. in the past, coach lee was taking risks by signing highly talented players but with low academic standings. and that's why a lot of them never put on an aggie uniform.
i'm expecting broadway's approach to be different. one of the first things i learned about coach broadway that i didn't realize is that he's a very "intelligent" man, literally. he's no dummy. i could be wrong, but i think we'll see him only sign guys that can cut it in the classroom. guys that not only will help us on the football field, but will also help us in the classroom (which helps our apr). we can afford to be selective because we've only got a hand full of schollies to offer.
broadway has already proven that he can "coach guys up". i mean, just take a look at our d-line that everybody including myself thought would be the "weak link" of our team. turned out to be a strength instead. if that ain't coaching up, i don't know what coaching up is. i don't think broadway has to have the best athletes in order to get best athlete production.
i'm expecting nearly 100% of broadway's first official class to be eligible to play this year. he may sign 1 or 2 who have academic challenges, but i'm not expecting much more than that...

I think game day would be the best position to take ;D!! Speaking of players that never make it to game day, what ever happen with C.J. Fredrick RB ? It's players like him that get you all excited about the upcoming season, and then comes the big let-down !! It happens too much .

I would hope that Broadway will use the Boise State approach in his recruiting. Coach Petersen recruits on need and not stars as much. A lot of his players never even made all-state in there home state. N.C. has the talent Broadway just has to go get it. Also O & D lineman should be first on his list. Why have great QB/RB but no one to block are rush the passer.

There is no need for a signing day party because Broadway typically does not like to release the names of his recruits until the start of camp.

I sure hope that a miracle happens and we somehow find a way to sign Dee Littlejohn RB!! I know that Broadway is actively recruiting him. Work that miracle coach!!!!

Why do you think we need a miracle? Is he heavily recruited by major PWCs??

They go off of junior year hype and spring/early-summer combine stats. It didn't used to be that way, but is now. If you have an average junior year and blow up your senior year you CANT make the NC shrine bowl. Late entries are rare. I would say about half of them are the best players in the state at their positions by the time the game actually rolls around. Linemen are normally legit though because you dont have many "surprise" linemen popping up in their senior year. I guess they have to use some type of formula, but they could at least wait until the end of the CURRENT season to do so.
