New NCAA rules on JC tranfers states: Posted June 01, 2010 06:10 PM Hide Post When transferring, the rules of the new division or association are the ones that matter. Here's the requirements to avoid sitting out a year: 4-4 transfers So if a player transfers to a D2, the D2 rules apply, no matter what kind of school was previously attended. D2 allows players who transfer from any kind of 4 year school a one-time exception to the year in residence requirement. Conversely, for baseball, D1 rules do not allow (in most cases) the one-time exception for players transferring from any kind of 4 year school. D2 2-4 transfers and D2 4-2-4 transfers Transfers from a 2 year school to a D2 need a 2.0 GPA and 12 transferrable hours per full time term. Qualifiers need to have attended for one full-time term, and others need 2 terms. These rules also apply to 4-2-4 transfers. D1 2-4 transfers For players who have only attended 2 year school(s), transfers in the fall term to a D1 are eligible to compete in the spring if they were academic qualifiers out of high school, have 2.0 GPA, 12 transferrable hours per full time term, and have attended JC for at least one full-time term. Non-qualifiers must have graduated from the 2 year school. D1 4-2-4 transfers Player who leave 4 year school, attend a 2 year school, and then transfer to a D1 need to have graduated from the 2 year school in addition to the above GPA/hours requirements. You can not put that mass soullessly on the student athletes that you say got us in this Mess. The University has a responsibility to help their Student Athletes Graduate with their Degree . How can Athletes from a JC Graduate from other MEAC/ D-1 schools but can not Graduate from A&T??? It has to be more to it then that I find it hard to believe that it was all on the JC Athletes.

It wasn't. It was all on us. But to date we haven't had the tools to help kids stay on track to graduate.
A lot of guys on this forum like to blame the kids. I say if we're going to blame the kids, we have no business recruiting guys that can even be remotely thought of as at risk or less than complete scholars.
Our history shows us that guys had difficulty getting eligible out of high school don't finish here too often. Honestly, if we plan to ever be allowed to provide more scholarships than a d-2 team, we have to quit recruiting the best athletes and start recruiting the best students.

Also it would help if A&T was to set up a program that a # of the D-!,2 and 3 Have. NCSU was the first to use it so they have set the model for it. The name skips my mind at this time but I will come up with it.... old age moment

Of the four, I like Smith and King the besd because of their quick release and decision making , at least on film. King has the prototypical pro type athletic size coaches crave but Smith has a superb foot speed and to me a far more accurrate passer which makes him a true dual threat out of the spread.
Some sharp looking QB prospects westcoast.

Thanks for sharing the video of the four QB's. Based on the stats, these guys have the skills and size we could use at A&T. My biggest questions is will they leave the West Coast? I think it will take a miricle to get Smith and Williams to come East to an HBCU. But what do I know. Thanks for sharing the video and I hope to see talent like these young men in Aggie Blue and Gold next year.

man, i can't wait to see what broadway's first official recruiting class at a&t will look like. in some ways, i'm similar to coach broadway. i tend to lower my expectations for fear of disappointment. but i'm just anxious to see what kind of recruiter broadway will be.
i could be wrong, but for some reason i don't get the impression that broadway is the type of coach who gets real giddy over outstanding talent. my gut tells me he has more interest in "broadway type" players. meaning guys who are smart, fundamentally sound, extremely "tough", very disciplined with good size and speed. of course i'm only guessing at this, but i suspect he knows he can coach certain players up who meet his criteria and they're probably easier to recruit.
just a "guess" on my part. but he seems to be that kind of coach to me. i think nc state's tom o'brien is also that kind of coach..

Only the Jr. from Narbonne is being pursued to play qb at the FBS level. We have excellent shots at all 4 of these guys, especially King.
King's HC played qb at Lehigh in the mid 90's. I also wouldn't be too concerned with any of them struggling to quality.
Besides, my cousin left the West Coast to play 2 solid seasons at Howard.

I am sure Broadway knows this especially since he signed one from there last year. Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using ProBoards

All four have potential and Christian Smith is my favorite because of his speed, strong arm and quick decision-making. I'd like to see him in an Aggie uniform....

I would also like to see the kid (#12) that Smith was throwing to come also. He looks like a really good WR. Oh, and by the way when is signing day and has anyone heard anything about a signing party like the ones that the old Aggie Club use to sponsor?

and by the way when is signing day? national letter of intent signing day starts officially on wednesday, february 1, 2012 and the final signing date is sunday, april 1, 2012. so basically, we're 3 weeks away from signing day. hopefully, broadway will have some good news for us and hopefully someone will sponsor a signing day event...

I hope we get some good recruits but...signing day is over-rated, IMO. We get all hyped about these guys that have supposedly sign on to play for us, but by the time August rolls around, half of them cannot even get in school...let alone play football for us. So, I'd have to say Broadway's approach is better for me...keep my expectations low then, surprise me on gameday with unexpected wins. I'll live with that till the cows come home.
