We have offered a 2* lineman out of SC. I am glad we were first because that can often be the deciding factor. You know the Bulldogs are coming. _________ 6'4 300 pound offensive tackle JaVontey Stewart of J.L. Mann High School has picked up his first scholarship offer today. The two-star prospect gave SCPrepNation.com the news just moments ago. "I just got my first offer from North Carolina A&T today," Stewart told us hssouthcarolina.scout.com/2/1081000.html

Nine times out of ten in the recruiting game, the early and the most persistent bird does indeed get the worm.

You can tell Broadway is going after big boys on that line 6" 4' 300 pounds is a lot of weight to push off. I am still looking for Broadway to recruit some 6"6' Offensive linemans around 280 pounds

He likes tall, big and quick linemen ;D!! So Trues you hit it on the head . The day of the 6" are 5"11 are over on offense . Now on the D-line you may see some but they would have to be a Beast at that nose .

Walt Wilson called it a good day for Calhoun County football. Turns out, Clyde Johnson, who announced his intentions to play at S.C. State, wasn't the only Saint to give a verbal commitment Thursday. Calhoun County defensive tackle Javontae Brown (6-1, 280), a T&D All-Area first team selection after finishing with 94 tackles, six sacks and eight tackles for loss in 2010, gave his verbal commitment to North Carolina A&T. man, my initial thought was that he was going to be eligible this year. but dude still has one more year of high school left and he hasn't signed a letter of intent yet. so we've got to stay of top of him and hope he doesn't decommit down the road. we'll also need to have a respectable season this year to keep this guy's interest. but he appears to be a very good nose tackle, the exact kind of d-lineman that we need! let's just hope he fulfills his verbal commitment...

My feeling is once we can weather this transition year, deal with all of the number questions and the academic progress, be competitive against most of the teams we face and have something close to a .500 or slightly above season this fall, there's no question in my mind that Coach Broadway can and will get the players in numbers here and will have us in a position to be a real force in 2012.

We need to check this guy out! Durham Hillside OL visits Ga. Tech Hillside offensive lineman Casey Perry made a trip to Atlanta last weekend. Perry, a member of Hillside High School's Class of 2012, visited Georgia Tech over the weekend, the same college that former Hillside quarterback Vad Lee has enrolled. Perry stands at 6-foot-2 and 315-pounds. Rivals.com rates him as a 3-star prospect. Although a number of schools are showing interest in the rising senior, Perry's only offer so far comes from NC Central. Hillside completed a 16-0 season last year, winning the PAC 6 title and the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4-A state championship. www.highschoolot.com/content/blogpost/9892747/
