Not saying that is going to happen because I don't think it will but who would be your long term choice to replace him?
I have my thoughts if it comes to that which I seriously doubt it will until his extension nears its end.
But then again, with Martin's determination and his lack of patience for accepting excuses for failure, that is not a given anymore after what has happened with the major athletic changes he has made over the last four months.

Oh yeah, in my posting under the thread--EAVES NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE I listed 8 serious coaches to be considered 2 of them were in jest--Bibbs and Doc Rivers---however, I believe Bibbs could do just as good of a job as "Mr. .500 in MEAC" and I KNOW would do a BETTER job in MOTIVATING the players than "Stiff" (I mean Jerry) Eaves. Getting back to my point I forgot to throw out the name of asst. head coach Phillip Stith. Stith is a true MOTIVATOR and MASTER recruiter. His head coch record at WSSU was 94-51 in five years at the helm. His teams were in the NCAA Division II playoffs 2 years out of his 5 years there and they were contenders EACH year, not stuck on .500 in the conference. His anyone really thought about next year w/o Coleman??? Look what's happening this year!! What was Eaves' strategy yesterday??? 60% (25 out of 42 shots) of our total shots were 3 pt attempts (does anybody remember last yr? ---Are there ANY AGGIES in the house???). Coleman attempts one field goal in 30 mins. There were a total of 11 shots attempted w/in 10 feet of the basket. Keep hoping that Eaves is OUR savior---I just got off the phone--The E. Market St. Bridge is still on the market ;D ;D ;D ;D

We should have him on speed dial just in case.... Umm, why would you want him? Keep in mind I know we would never ever think of looking his way and for justified reason given his current stint with the Pack But.... Lowe would be worth a look if not for any other reason than his experience on another level of play. Again...I know that we would never seriously consider Lowe for a spot if it comes around, but in terms of recruitment in and out of state, in terms of the big money (im sure he is connected to for sponsorship) and just for the chance for him to really prove himself after a horrible run at NC State. Think about it, if the Pack drops Lowe he would probably come down the road for peanuts. I think it would be interesting to see what a former ACC coach could do with a mid level MEAC Team. Its a slim chance we will get a shot with a coach on that level besides maybe a good assistant. Dont get me wrong. Im a Eaves supporter and wish him well and hope he can push this team to a Tourney Title, but if he leaves/ by choice or force were either gonna hire a good assistant coach from some school, or an HBCU coach with a pretty decent record. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

You guys have extremely short memories. Lowe burned his bridges with the A&T alumni a long time ago when his son went on trial for attempted homicide 5-6 years ago in Greensboro blaming the atmosphere of A&T for being largely responsible for his son's robbery and shooting of another student.
Funny thing was A&T expelled his sorry azz son the year before the shooting for his on campus misbehavior and sent him home and Daddy Red Coat then sent him over to UNG to give him a "quality education" in a less " ethnic environment" where the shooting took place.
A few days later after his testimoney in court, He had to write a big time public apology to A&T in the N &O and the N&R by order of their Chancellor. A&T was really pissed, administration, students, and everybody else. The kid got 5-15 years. Besides
Lowe sucks as a coach. Ask any real NCSU fan or alumni. He's gone after this year if Yow has her way as their new AD.
You want someone then call Kelvin Sampson, a Lumberton native who lives there now, formerly of Oklahoma and a final four coach and who would love to have a chance at a Bozeman type revival at a mid major D-1 program.
Lowe would never be welcomed here, at least not by me.

I remember Lowe's son and Lowe's remarks about A&T. It pains me to see all this talent misused during oppurtune times on the court. I just wish we had the oppurtunity to have a upper division head coach work with our boys. Greensboro is head quarters for ACC Basketball and we cant get above .500.

Great recruiter, horrible coach. He wouldn't be any better than Eaves. Might be worse. At least Eaves can beat some upper MEAC squads. Lowe has NEVER beat the top of the ACC.

i think it would be "premature" to fire coach eaves at this time, even though i do kinda like aggieone's idea to go after sampson. the only problem with sampson is that he got dinged "twice" for violating ncaa recruiting regulations both at oklahoma and indiana. if he dared to subsequently commit the very same violations at indiana that he did at oklahoma, what's the likelihood he'd break the rules again at a&t? lawd knows the very last thing we need is another blimish to our image.
nonetheless, i won't pass judgment on eaves until the season is over. it does no good to judge him game to game because you never know how our team is gonna perform. so at the end of the season i can look back on his body of work for the season.
if he finishes top 5 and wins at least 2 games in the tournament, i most definitely feel he will deserve the right to return next season. but if he doesn't do those things, then i'd have to take a very close look at the overall performance of the team and the prospects for next season...

For now Eaves will more than likely be back next year at least, mainly because he has the backing of the BOT.

Hopefully, Eaves ("Mr.500 in MEAC") will step up his game because I am quite sure if Martin wants to pull the trigger (if there is a poor showing from now AND into the tourney) the BOT will go w/Martin's suggestion. We are living in pernicious times and it is all about the bottom line. We will see if Eaves can do it--its on his shoulders and the responsiblity is HIS!!!!!
