That's academic scholarship material and a boost to the APR.

He originally gave a verbal to Elon in the Burlington paper a while back before national signing day but backed off when their coach booked up. I know Hampton also offered him back in March.
Saw him in the state playoffs. He played nose and tackle on defense and has a lot of lower body drive so it makes him a better offensive prospect right now. But he's above average on either side. If you are a big man you must have good lateral foot movement to play college ball as a lineman.
Although all his press was on offense, because of our pressing need for more size in the middle, I think he'll be on defense along with the other DT James Morris (6-3,275) we signed from Raleigh back in mid-April. They both could become very good D-linemen if they are handled properly.
We're already three deep in the offensive line.

I understand tonight from making a few calls to some old high school coaching friends in the area that there are 2 or 3 very nice ACT late qualifiers from Broadway's home area along that 1-85 South corridor that we are all over right now as well as a couple of D-1 transfers (with no baggage) along that defensive front that we will probably hear about in a couple of weeks or so.
Patience fellas.

i don't mind waiting as long as i know for sure we're gonna get quality help on the d-line. not knowing for sure is what i'm struggling with, but patience is no problem...

I've seen him play his junior and senior year. He was the entire team!

I remember the feller when they came to Hillside in the playoffs this past season. That's a good player coming in. I think once he makes it to A&T, he'll change his mind about transferring up. Just get him to Greensboro first.

I wonder if he will come here with a sense of entitlement...

Well...just about all of the new breed of athletes come in with the sense of entitlement. Lawd knows I hope he doesn't. If he does come though, it makes the runningback competition fierce out the gate.

From what I read he's a receiver. How's that make the running back competition fierce?
In any event, I don't know if I fault him for voicing his "I really don't want to go there" opinion or fault the paper for printing it, along with his coach practically saying he should be going somewhere else.

Thats how "THEY" do Dooms. They shoot for the Div1 and HBCU are not even mentioned by most of these guys. We might as well be division 3 to some of "THESE" coaches.
