www.news-record.com/content/2011/02/03/article/broadway_changes_mind_will_take_at_football_jobRod Broadway, the Grambling State head football coach who last week turned down an offer to take the top job at A&T, has changed his mind and will be introduced at 3 p.m. today as the Aggies' new coach. The school has a news conference planned at the Bryan Health and Wellness Center on the campus. Broadway, a native of Oakboro in Stanly County, is a former player at North Carolina and was the head coach at N.C. Central before moving to Grambling. "Grambling has lost a true leader and a developer of young men," said Grambling State athletics director Lin Dawson, a Kinston native and former N.C. State football player. "Grambling provided Broadway the opportunity to bring his skills as a head coach to the national stage, and Grambling is better because of it." Advertisement | Advertise with Us

Why would the N&R hate this? They don't want any positive news coming out of A&T...we all know that.

Look like Hilton got the job officially. www.digtriad.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=159524&catid=57Greensboro, NC - Rod Broadway is leaving Grambling to take the vacancy at North Carolina A&T after all. Last week it was reported that Broadway was the leading candidate for the NC A&T position, but Grambling announced last Friday that the coach was staying with the Tigers. On Thursday, that all changed. North Carolina A&T introduced Broadway as their new head football coach. "I must say that Grambling has lost a true leader and a developer of young men," said Grambling athletic director Lin Dawson in a statement. "He built a championship program and left us with a foundation to be one of the best football programs in the region, as well as Black College Sports." In four seasons at Grambling, Broadway posted a 35-12 record, including the 2008 SWAC championship. Broadway previously coached in his native state of North Carolina as the head coach at North Carolina Central, compiling a 33-11 record in four seasons. North Carolina A&T, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, fired Alonzo Lee after the Aggies went 1-10 in 2010 and named assistant George Ragsdale as its interim head coach. Chancellor Harold Martin appointed Earl Hilton as the new North Carolina A&T intercollegiate director of athletics. Hilton has served for the past three months as interim athletics director for the University. He has been with the university since 2000 in a variety of different roles
