I know its at NSU. That is what makes it better we tend to do better there then at home anyways. btw how was the band retreat blankman ? Retreat went great! Would say this was one of the best ones yet. The Student Leaders and Staff know what the goals and objectives are for this upcoming year and we look to take things up to another level, from shows to discipline and etc. Look Forward to the Machine having a lot of Attitude when they step out to perform on any occasion. Its time for the Machine to get back tothe level of Best Band in NC and a TOP MEAC Heavy Hitter year end and out.. I will believe it when i see it. I dont doubt what you say I will have to see it for myself. Yall have a lot of work to do. Yall got to learn to keep the fire burning the whole year, you know that was a problem we always had. Also learn to focus and entertain your football team and fans first and focus on the band across from you later. You understand why I say that? I want you guys to be great this year, God knows I do.

The only problem is when we have our game with NCCpoo high schools still have Friday night games that is the reason they don't come to the gym battle as it is. I be meaning to tell some band members this is the year to change up what they do when they have the battle with NSU. They should have one of the members come out and sing during one of the song selections. Having someone sing Luther medley and the band back them up would bring the house down. We got to get the upper hand on these cats. That has been done at NSU by HIU and VSU twice during a band battle, so that would not surprise the crowd.

Do you know of any expectations as far as numbers go? I've heard several things one being: 190 block band with 160 horns...what you think?

Freshman will be at the band room today at 6 with instruments. You may not get a true number for about 2 weeks when they weed out everyone.

Man Im hearing the same thing, esp. in the trumpet and tuba sections. I really wish that Freight Train could get back to what they used to be. Norfolk really got them last year.

this will be a very interesting season with the INDY trip & the matchups with NSU, SCSU, NCCU & WSSU...i say we gym battle em all....{i can dream lol} LOL...if we really want to raise the profile of the A&T-NCCU rivalry game...I could see a Florida Classic meets Band Brawl meets Bayou Classic style of event taking place to add to the weekend. The Home Band invites a couple of High Schools to perform as a pre-show then let the main event go down... unfortunately, it would take a much larger venue than ones respective gym to make it happen, but the possible recruitment and financial windfalls would be nice... This could be done in the coliseum on the old arena football field

I will get some info about the band tonight. I heard the drumline was at 65 yesterday but i am sure a few have dropped by now. The trumpets were at 40 on paper, the saxes have 16 freshman along with the old heads it should be about 30 of them.
