Hey Fam,
I think that we have 5 or 6 CIAA BB Championships under the Great Cal Irwin. So here are some events if you go and brag.
Three things first:
> The Arena on Thurs, on into the weekend, will have that Aggie Homecoming 'Marketplace Vending' Vibe around the concourse. The African American Heritage tours would be interesting; also the Ford Fan-fest is good for the whole family. It’s huge and has free shows! On the basketball tip, keep you eyes on Rodney Callwood (Shaw) who lit up Bowie St. for 38. And check out 6-11 225, Travis Hyman( Bowie St.) who had 13 blocks against ESCU. 13 blocks! I don’t know if he is a Mutombo, but he may be worth a look.
> I have Chuck Brown locked for Fri. night. The pride of Kannapolis, George Clinton will play on Sat. I'm torn between him, Trouble Funk ( drop tha' bomb), and DJ Jazzy Jeff spinning that night in different places.
> I know that 'the Click' is not into the paparazzi vibe ( with Diddy and all of them), but if yall need to keep your trigger finger in shape, then please get some shots of spandex or lycra along with your other offerings. LOL I'm easy to please.
Lastly here is something with the Aggies:
The Charlotte Metro Aggie Club will host its first CIAA Old School/New School party on Thursday, February 25th at Rameses Temple #51, located on 4919 Beatties Ford Rd. The party will get started at 9:00 pm and rock until 2:00 am. Ticket Donation is $15.00 per person or two tickets for $25.00. This includes food, DJ and cash bar. We will also offer a 50/50 ($1.00) raffle. Funds raised will support student athletic scholarships! . Please respond via email to Joseph.Bloomfield@duke-energy.com or contact Joe Bloomfield for tickets at 704-619-7059. Be blessed and as always…be safe and have fun at the CIAA.
