Fact 1: We actually play them tonight at 7 PM Fact 2: That are Division III Fact 3: There mascot is the Senators Fact 4: They are a proud member of something called the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Fact 5: They have a cool little creed that all student athletes must abide by: www.godandesenators.com/page.cfm?section=11701Fact 6: Last year they finished with a overall record of 7-21, including a season-ending 10 game losing streak Fact 7: They have a new head coach this year named Bruce Martin. Fact 8: They currently have 46 followers on their athletic department's twitter account. Fact 9: There is no reason on earth we should be playing this school tonight.

lol @ # 9. lol Thrilla you are sick...lol. We need to get on track. T Alston & M Hill must leave this game feeling better about their strokes. And the freshmen need to get all the run that they can handle. Middle Tennessee St. played marshall tough: Yesterday Men's Basketball defeated Lamar University 74-66 Tuesday Men's Basketball lost to Marshall 60-63 Sunday Men's Basketball lost to Ohio University 68-81 www.goblueraiders.com/section.cfm/sport/mensbasketball================ Those two spokes in the wheel must get on track for us before hitting the road out west.

You got that right and if I remember correctly both were on the floor at the same time in a couple of games. PJ is there anyone else that has ball handeling skils on he team ?
Simpson, Witter (Eaves said he wants to make him a guard eventually) maybe ?
I am sure Coach wants them to shoot through it; on a normaol off. that would ok. But the amount of shots thes two are missing is killing the team. a quick three is fine by me if you got the right person taking it i.e. Johnson / Simpson maybe Witter. I dont expect them (PG's) to shoot 50% behind the arc but you got be in the 3.5 out of 10 range - we get there the defensive transition / easy basket problem is over with. I addition its a whole lot easier to play def after a made basket.

guys, let's not panic. its way too early in the season. surely ya'll didn't expect to see a well oiled machine after only 3 games. and i wouldn't worry about the shooting of the point guards, just yet. poor outside shooting could be attributed to numerous factors. it would take me too long to list them all. but just to list a few, poor conditioning, inadequate sleep, lack of reps, poor mechanics. i could go on and on. sometimes you simply have an off night.
give it some time guys. but i know one thing. if eaves thinks he's gonna beat superior talent by playing a run and gun style of basketball, then i'm afraid he's sadly mistaken. but i'll wait until i've personally seen the team play before i conclude anything. despite eaves' commitment to do so, i honestly can't believe he'll use a run and gun style as his primary offense...

I'm not sure why you guys are acting like he implemented this last month or something. He has half court sets too, but he's made it clear for years that he wants to get the ball and go. It's like you guys are just waking up. I spoke about this style all throughout the last couple of years and even this summer.

I hear you oleschool but the two losses become single digit games maybe wins with decent shooting from Alston / Hill. I expected them to play well tonight but they need to play well against Middle Tenn. St.
Like I tell my 14 year old son - All I want you to do is to play to your maximum potential. You cant ask for more than that !!!

PJ is there anyone else that has ball handeling skils on he team ? ===== Frisco, Not running the point guard position. None that I can remember. I'm headed to the 'boro tonight. They just need to find their stroke, and be mindfull of turnovers. They do have others who can assist in bringing the ball up the floor like D Joshua. The Freshmen will have a learning curve, but I saw a few nice things from them as well. ========== This is one of those weekends that has basketball ( Mens/Womens) and football. I'm like a fat rat up in this piece. I'm ready.

We took this team too light. Also, we did not guard #15 very close he was killing us.

www.ncataggies.com/Mensbasketball/2009-10%20ARTICLES/4AGGIESvD&E.htmAGGIES SILENCE SENATORSGREENSBORO – There are two things North Carolina A&T head coach Jerry Eaves likes about Friday night’s game against Davis & Elkins. One, it’s over. And two, the Aggies won. The Aggies didn’t have their most crisp effort, but they still managed to defeat the Senators 67-53 in front of 2,853 at Corbett Sports Center. Thomas Coleman led the Aggies with 12 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. Robert Johnson added 11 points and eight rebounds, and James Porter finished with eight points and 11 boards. The Aggies shot just 34.8 percent from the floor, 18.8 percent from the line and 56.3 percent from the line. “There were not too many bright spots today,’’ said Eaves. “We missed enough layups today to carry us through the rest of the season. I’ve truly never seen anything like it. It was just a learning experience for a young team.” N.C. A&T took a 10-point lead three minutes into the second half. But when Danny Manuel and P.J. Turner hit back-to-back 3-pointers, the Senators moved to within 1 at 49-48 with 8:15 remaining in the game. After Tavarus Alston made two free throws, he made an immediate steal. He dropped the ball in the low post to Johnson who turned and scored for a 5-point Aggies lead. Alston came through again seconds later. After two missed free throws by Marc Hill, Alston jumped in the paint to grab the offensive board. His follow-up gave the Aggies a 55-48 lead. Alston closed out the Aggies 12-2 run with a backdoor layup for a 61-50 lead with 2:12 remaining in the game. The Aggies (2-2) will host Middle Tennessee State Monday night at 7.

Thrilla, the game to see is on monday. The should be a good test.
I got there late again!
Now, the D&E team looked like us whenever we had S Rush. They set pics for the Brother with dreds & they had a Steve Kerr type player that got some looks also. It reminded me of the power of the '3-ball' They were undersized but used what they had. They got hot, and our legs got tired.
This turned out to being a test. Eaves went inside and got the matchups he wanted. Coleman & Porter need to use the glass more. esp. Porter. They missed a lot of contested lay-ups. A lot Brother. Add some missed FT's and D&E was back in it!
We wore them down inside. And it had that feel that A&T could just turn it on at any time. Even when it was close.
This was our last chance to really roll in a game ( except Carson Newman). It is what it is. I did not see a lot of rushed '3's. This team slowed us down. We ran our half court sets. D Joshua made a few fans say that they did not like his game. But he was getting his own shot & he was breaking down the defense, with potential 'and -1's, as opposed having to being 'set-up' by someone else. He also became the 'stopper' when that 'D&E Dred was hot. Rob was solid.
Well, a win is a win. Good win Aggies.

We were 3 of 16 on three pointers and committed 14 turnovers vs a D-III team. Not good!
