As Coach has reached out more to the fans; maybe at some point we consider a funding campaign for the weight room or locker room. I know some may have funding burn out!! However if the team gets off to a good start and they play a very exciting brand of b-ball the way Coach has descibed a campaign could be well received ?

Thanks everyone. I just want another electric night in Corbett. I think that brothers from the opposition want to shut us up on our floor. That last Feb run by the Aggies helped to cement Corbett as being the toughest place to play with the NEW generation.
Just give me a Rush vs WSSU night again. I remember sitting by a old friend who is a WSSU administrator. She said 'man this is crazy' ( during the heat of the game I think somebody got a blocked shot or a dunk that everybody saw coming) !! lol
One just ended up cheering for anything in defending their loyality. ( like one side starting a chant & the other side responding).
BTW, Coleman may feast this year.

In my opinion, for this team to be successful in this offense the players must be aggressive and fearless on the floor. The young big guys must understand that they can't be timid.
In this new style offense it is about playing the odds. Shoot a lot of 3's and hit at least 33 percent and you are in the 60's score. Get hot, then the score is in the 90's and some cases over a 100. Be successful at this and it will strike fear in your opponents. Your opponents would be so worried about being blown out that they won't play their game. I think this is the goal of this offensive madness......... and of course winning is the main goal.

It's like the run & shoot in football. It's exciting as heck, but no one has ever won anything with it.

Key is really on the defensive end, no matter whether we are hot or cold we must have defensive stops to create the shot advantage.

Isn't this what Nolan Richardson ran in Arkansas?

Isn't this what Nolan Richardson ran in Arkansas? I think Nolan Richardson's style was based more on defensive pressure just like the old Georgetown squads. The problem with putting up a bunch of "J's" is that if you miss you get a long rebound going the other way. I agree with 77, if you play solid defense you can get away with it...and Eaves is known for defense.

i like the run and gun style of play, but you've got to have the right personnel to do it successfully. and you can also get "blown out" if you try it against a superior team. basically, both unc and duke play a similar style of offense but they're very "disciplined" in how they run it. they don't just jack up shots whenever they feel like it. they have to have good looks and only certain personnel have the green light to shoot 3's.
its definitely a style that can back fire on ya! so you've got have the ability to run a half court offense "efficiently". in fact, every team must work on playing multiple styles of offense because your favorite style may not work against some teams. it would be "suicidal" to play a run and gun style against a team that has superior shooters and superior athletes...
