MLK is playing Stephenson on ESPNU right now. Cameron Myers has us listed along with Ga Southern and Western Kentucky as his choices.

He's pretty athletic with a good arm. Made some good yards scrambling. Decision making wasn't there (took some bad sacks and pocket awareness needed help).
But it was one game and the school he was playing against had quite a few D1 prospects on the team. So it was hard to determine if it was the defense or him...

i watched the game too and i think bluehaze is on point. according to the telecast, he completes less than 50% of his passes and he's only about 6'0" tall. he appears to be a running type quarterback.
i'd love to land him, but i wouldn't be terribly disappointed if we don't...

I think most schools are after his running back.

I looked him up on scout.com and he is listed at 6ft. 182lbs. and runs a 4.9 forty. So, let me get this right he doesn't make good decisions throwing the ball, is not fast, and is not big. Why do we need him???

Sounds like all he did was go to the right summer camp during the offseason.

Why do we need him??? from what i saw on tv, he's faster than 4.9 in the forty. he looked to me as if he runs about a 4.6 or 4.7 in the forty. besides, you can't always trust the scouting sites' statistics. rivals.com still lists raper's speed at 4.4 instead of 4.24 which is his fastest forty. nonetheless, myers appeared to be very athletic when i watched him play on espnu. there's several other "formidable" pwc fcs schools that's also after him (including georgia southern and western kentucky). so the kid's a good athlete, but i'm just not convinced he's what we need as a qb...

In Kindle, Lewis, Kid from Baltimore, Kid from Winston-Salem, etc., we already have several all star high school QBs. Maybe what we need is a good college QB coach to develop their current talents into good D1 QBs instead of spending more scholarship dollars on QBs.

The skill position will be fine QB, RB etc We need to get all the lineman in school and on a Weight training program the O-line and D-line is where the game is won.

I think most schools are after his running back. true, but his running back is already committed to florida... On that note, let me give you some background info. All of the following players played youth football with Kindle, coached by Coach Lew (Kindle's dad). Most of them played together from 6 years old, until they went to middle school. They all played at Redan Park in Dekalb County. ( Reeeeedaaaaaaann! You knooww!) 1) Mack Brown '10 - MLK High - RB - Commit: Florida 2) Kenneth Ladler '10 - Stephenson High - CB - Enrolled at Vanderbilt (1st f'ball player to go a semester early to Vanderbilt) 3) Stephen Hill '09 - Miller Grove High - WR - #5 @ Ga Tech 4) Christian Newsome '10 - Parkview High - RB - Highly recruited 5) Garry Peters '10 - Heritage High - CB - Commit: Clemson 6) Jared Jeter '10 - S. Paulding High - RB - Highly recruited 7) Kalin Jones '11 - Parkview High - WR (Parents A&T grads) 8) Chaz Jackson '10 - S. Gwinnett High - CB - Highly recruited 9) Chris Gilzean '10 - Stone Mountain High - LB - Highly recruited and many others. All are rated 3-star or better. This is actually Lew's graduating class. He started school a year early. All of Coach Lew's players make an impression wherever they go.
