and it's hard to average more than 9000 people per game to watch what we put on the field. I'm almost to the point I wouldn't watch this team for free. It's not only that I can no longer stomach the losing, it's that we play unwatchable football right now.
I swear, this has got to be how Morgan went from being a perennial conference powerhouse to a 20 year doormat.
Ask yourself this: Honestly, if you weren't an A&T alum or a diehard A&T fan would you want to sit through one of the games? Gas is more expensive, housing is more expensive, plus I gotta drive from wherever and pay more than 2.50 to see bad black college football? I'm to the point I'm looking for excuses to skip homecoming and I went to both schools!
You can make all kinds of sales pitches but nothing sells like success.

She said our campus was to pretty now. We used to be hard and now we tissue paper. All the pretty lights, fancy scoreboard, and "aggie suites" have turned our boys into Bif and Chet instead of Deebo and Tiny. Typical NSU mentality

Yesterday's attendance is very troubling. There are three more home games to go. Homecoming is a given plus.
This is how bad things are right now. Last year, A&T had their worst one game attendance in the following condition:
The previous year, 2004, the team finished 3-8; The team was currently 3-5 and the game was on a Thursday night and on TV ("so why go" attitude was rampant).
That Thursday night attendance was 9,737.
Now this 0-fer team support is down to 4,200 in attendance with two home games to go not counting HC which is always a money maker.
This low attendance couple with two more low attendance spells serious trouble for the athletic department budget.
The general admission tickets excluding homecoming cannot stay at $20.00 for the rest of the year.

Ok... Thats what you call it.. and thats what we do... and we will make sure we catch that Marketing 101 class on MWF from 10-10:50 Craig Hall Rm 335 ....... OUT.. !! ohhh and before recommending that we do those things.. check and see that we DO offer discounts to groups, seniors, parks and rec and 50 tickets per radio station for giveaways. EVERY WEEK... ok.. im done.. lets focus on the team not the infastructure.. we are bustin our butts to get it done.. and doing what we can to help make things better... Lets encourage everybody on here who has an opinion to do the same thing... GIVE.. (something other than suggestions about what SHOULD be done...).. Im out.. GO AGGIES !!! I'm on your side, so don't get defensive. You brought up the infrastructure, I didn't. I was just supporting the fact that there should a cooperative effort between marketing and setting of ticket pricing to maximize the revenue and the butts in the seats. We've been perennially in the Top 10 in I-AA in attendance. BTW, BDF gives! You're doing a fine job with limited resources and the current product on the field. We're just frustrated at the lack of success on the field. That's all.

The more I think about it, we might meed to drop general admission tickets to as low as $12 dollars.
Also, it would be a good idea to introduce some sort of new family 4-pack where you can get four game tickets, four hot dogs, four cokes, and some type of kid's souvenir for about $60 dollars. The fans would be able to redeem their food, drinks and souvenir item at participating concession stands with a voucher.
With this family 4 pack, we can still make sure the casual fans are coming out to the stadium and that they are leaving with a pleasurable experience, regardless of the final score.

They probably ain't dropping ticket prices unless a few of y'all get jobs at the school. This is the same institution that charged about fifty bucks for a boring homecoming game with a losing home team in it. For whatever reason we are struggling to fund the athletic dept and mathematically this is one way those in charge figured to make money. If the game was five bucks, do you really think we'd have doubled the attendance?
Nope.
I mean, the Winston game was a sellout. Everybody who is even casually interested in Ayantee football has heard the news by now. It's a bad team, don't waste your time. Again, I've only missed one homecoming since 1990 and I am all for making it two. I cannot stomach watching this team take the field. This team is not worth my hard-earned money, and I'm a fan!
There is no point in blaming whoever it is that decides to charge these highway robbery prices for games. Our game prices have been high for years and I never really noticed because we were winning. If we were winning that game would have had over 12,000 people. These ideas, while good, ain't gonna work when the product on the field is as bad as it is.

Dooms... Don't despair. We're paying for all those "do nothing" Bill Hayes years, years that should have ended long before they did. And then there was Coach Small... a clone of Hayes. And now we have Fobbs. I sure hope he's as good on the field as he looks on paper (A1 background, et al.). However, I was taken aback at the Norfolk game when we had just scored a touchdown, the players were fired up... we had momentum... we immediately got the ball again on about Norfolk's 30-yard line... you could see Campbell's confidence growing by leaps and bounds... so what does Fobbs do but stick the other kid (Miller?) in the game for one play (running) that failed miserably, the momentum was killed, and the drive to score was stopped. At that point, I had a Bill Hayes flashback!!! That was just the kind of dumb move Bill Hayes would have made. Why in heck did Fobbs make such a dumb, sand lot-type move when we were finally moving the ball. Even the Norfolk fans sitting near me were asking the same questions. Would Fobbs have made such an ill advised move if he was still in Texas? Someone please tell me we are not witnessing another Bill Hayes clone. For one thing, Fobbs needs to stop the musical chairs system of QB's. How does he expect either QB to grow if he, as coach, fails to make a choice now (I prefer Campbell).

We did not have a problem with putting fans in the seats when Bill Hayes was here.

If you aint winning they aint coming? BOTTOM LINE I don't think it's just about winning. It's about how you play. AGGIES will support a team that has a glimpse of hope. We led the conference in basketball attendance the last two years. The BB team lost but they were competitive. I applaud 2,700 diehards. They're better than me. I watched the webcast for just a few minutes.
