Quality is better than Quantity! Biggest is not always the best! There is still a high enthusiasm to come to Winston-Salem State, and sorry but our attraction is not jjust"a good homecoming". Which is the case for your institution!! In saying all that you said, it doesn't change the fact that your enrollment as well as NCCU's obviously increased because of WSSU reducing the size of it's freshman class, plus the WSSU REJECTS! Thank YOU! :-) Though I disagree with the move, going back will solve the budget crisis which was all a result of the Div 1 move, and would have had an effect on our record enrollment rates. Trust when WSSU gets the housing the enrollment will continue to increase, going from 2,000 to 7,000 in pretty much 4 years is pretty damn good, clearly there is a period of high optimism at WSSU and I don't think it was all a result of just the Div 1 move! Oh giddyup..if you think that our school's only appeal is only our homecoming, then you must not know about "T" In addition to being classified as a High Research Activity University by The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education... * we are one of the nation's leading producers of African American engineers with B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. * Our school of engineering has a MAJOR partnership with NASA. * We are also one of the nation's top producer of minorities with degrees (as a whole) in science, mathematics, engineering and technology. * More than 90% of the full time faculty are PhD holders. * Our motor sports program races internationally. * Our School of Business and Economics is also fully accredited in all undergraduate accounting and business programs by AACSB International and holds the distinction of being the nations only HBCU with its own Wall Street trading room. Not saying that we feel superior to any other HBCUs or anything (we leave that kind of mindset to the likes of FAMU ) BUT North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University's reputation and enrollment does not rest upon it's homecoming festivities OR "WSSU rejects"...but whatever helps you sleep at night ;D

So how many high school students in this state can name 1 just 1 of those facts about the "T" Exactly, now ask them about A&T, first thing they will say "Homecoming"! I guarantee you!

AggieBlues remember you can't spell success without S.S.U nor can you spell winner without a W Winner+success=W.S.S.U :-) How are you growing if you are "intentionally" decreasing the size of you incoming freshmen class? But, you right about one thing, Winner does start with "W" but that W must be written in invisible ink because the rams haven't seen one of those all season.... ;D

Growing equals=2,000 to nearly 7,000 students in pretty much 4 academic years. That's major growth. They reduced the freshman class this year because the 1,300 record freshman enrollment really overwhelmed the school from having to use 3 additional hotels for students, to having to close registration, close open enrollment etc... However, there was a substantial amount of new transfer students, so the overall enrollment did not take a huge hit. Reducing the freshman class resulted in the best overall profile ever for a WSSU freshman class, statistics will be released soon by UNC. So quality over quantity! :-)
