Edet sounds like an intense guy. I wonder why things didn't work out at Maryland? Oh well...their loss is our gain! Hopefully he can quickly mesh with Thornton and the rest of the D veterans. Man...Lee is gonna love coaching this dude! I don't know about yall, but it sounds like Blue Death is coming back in 09! i'm with you, aggie e! looks like bluedeath has a realistic shot of returning to aggieland this year, the season won't get here fast enough! and don't forget about the transfer from purdue locking it down in the defensive secondary...

Lee must see a lot of potential in Humes. His team finished 0-10 last season averaging 2.8 yards per rush and 88 ypg passing. Hey just bc you have losing records doesnt mean everyone on the team is garbage. Them are actually the teams you can tell the difference in talent

MLB Levarray Covington (6-1, 240) 1989-92 is the best comparison to Edet. Edet is slightly bigger and appears somewhat faster from sideline to sideline but the intensity and the nastiness looks to be cut from the same cloth to me on film.
Covington was twice all-MEAC first team on Bill Hayes' first two championship squads at A&T. A great run stopper and delay blitzer.

(Levarray Covington)
AKA Ham Bone is from me and Jazz hometown. If Edet is being compared to Ham bone, the kid is a beast.

These are some quality pick ups Lee is getting right now. I've always felt that it's better to hold out a 1/3 of your scholarships for this time of year. A lot of kids that appeared to be headed to major programs often become available around this time.

A pretty good "hidden" D-II transfer in a group of very deep wide receivers -
Emerson Springs - Durham Hillside 6-2, 205 wide receiver
Originally signed with Shaw University last winter after being recruited by A&T, NCCU, WSSU, Coastal, and Pembroke. Enrolled but never played; left after a semester and opted to go to prep school last winter for a chance to increase his stock for a D-1 offer.

Decks makes a excellent point in that Lee was very patient in his recruiting and didn't go out just anyone that somebody would send him a tape out of the blue but kept tabs on those unsigned that actually were D-I prospects who had their core grades and GPAs but needed a final shot at thier board scores on the NCAA sliding scale system to qualify.
A really fine lineman prospect in -
Armon White 6-5, 295 OG 5.3 forty Memphis Central Memphis, Tenn.
Three time first team All-Conference, Top 50 prospect by Scout.Com in that state. Late qualifier that was looked at seriously by Memphis, Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, Middle Tennessee, and Tenn. State.

Since I subscribe to these services, I watched his video film. Someone really missed the boat in not recruiting this young man. This guy is a three time all-state selection from class AAA from down there and he has some tremendous jets on him. Although not nearly big enough for a D-1 for tight end, he is a perfect fit for FCS competition - a lean 6-3, 220 pounder with great hands and 4.65 speed and the ability to run over and away fom defensive backs and goes over the middle quite a bit. A very impressive looking TE prospect.www.theledger.com/article/20080826/news/808280280?Title=Blue-Devils-Determined-to-Find-Success-After-Jefferson

I would guess that most of these linemen are shorter than they list. They are probably in the 6-3 range.
