Wall plans visit to N.C. Central www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/1508920.htmlTim Stevens, Staff Writer The recruitment of John Wall, the top high school basketball point guard recruit in the country, took another twist Thursday when Wall planned an unofficial visit to N.C. Central for today. "I want to find out what a historically black school has to offer," Wall said Thursday night of N.C. Central, an NCAA Division I independent. LeVelle Moton, a former standout at Enloe High and at N.C. Central, was named as the Eagles head coach this spring. Moton has known Wall and worked with him for years. Wall had planned to trim his list of eight schools to three or four by today, but, "truthfully, it looks like it is going to be Monday now," Wall said Thursday night. Wall currently has N.C. State, Baylor, Kentucky, Miami, Duke, Kansas, Memphis and Florida on his list.

I have been wondering if a HBCU could convince 2 prep superstars to come to their university for one year since they will going pro after their freshman year anyway.
One thing for sure, the NCAA will suddenly find the urge to make a visit to that HBCU if something like this should ever happen.

Why do u think Moton will do well. Wall didn't visit NCCU on fri due to SAT classes Because I know him. He played under Jackson (Del St) and runs a lot of his sets (which are awesome). He also knows what a good player is. He's young and driven. He played at the school and is from the area, so that means he can sell it to recruits. That's why I think he'll do well. It'll take a little time, but he'll be OK there.

Local high school basketball standout John Wall, one of the nation's top uncommitted college prospects, has been cited with breaking and entering, Raleigh police said Monday. He is the No. 1-ranked recruit in the country by both Rivals.com and Scout.com and among the last top players yet to commit. Authorities said Wall, 18, was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering in connection with an April 27 break-in at a home at 3924 Laurel Glen Drive in Raleigh. Police said there was no forced entry at the residence and no indication that anything was taken from it. Dang Treese!! Wow!! Even if he is innocent, this puts a big speed bump on Duke or UNC-Chapel Hill taking Wall but it looks good for NCCU. This is a strange story as printed:
"An officer saw Wall leaving from the rear of the residence and was able to detain him, police said. Police said there was no forced entry at the residence and no indication that anything was taken from it."
Eaves was able to get the last top NC HS guard to visit A&T after he was arrested but he ended up at Oklahoma State. I forgot his name but he was heading to Chapel Hill and Roy Williams was wavering on keeping him and then he got arrested for a high school drug ring and that was the end for him with Roy Williams.
Aahhbigboy, explain what is "doing well" at NCCU for Morton. Morton is in the same situation as Collins at WSSU.

Aahhbigboy, explain what is "doing well" at NCCU for Morton. Morton is in the same situation as Collins at WSSU. At first, he'll take his lumps. They are, literally, in a no-win situation now. No tourney play etc. But I think in about 3-4 years, if NCCU is that patient, he will begin win. He may even get a top 3 finish and/or more than one win in the tourney. It'll be challenging at first though. But he will recruit NC aggressively. His network is huge, especially in the Triangle, Triad, and Charlotte (he coached AAU and high school). He has a very strong UNC affiliation and will help him as well. Just based on those few reasons, I think he has a chance at being successful.

This thing is fishy>>>>> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- they are updating the article every 5 minutes. www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/1512888.htmlJohn Wall charged with breaking, entering Published: Mon, May. 04, 2009 10:58AM Modified Mon, May. 04, 2009 11:03AM RALEIGH -- John Wall of Raleigh, one of the country's most prized college basketball prospects, was charged last week with breaking and entering at a Raleigh residence. Wall, a senior at Raleigh Word of God, was arrested April 27 by a Raleigh police officer and issued a citation charging him with misdemeanor breaking and entering, said Wake County chief magistrate Gary Wills. The citation is similar to one issued for a traffic violation, Wills said. "You can be cited for a misdemeanor breaking and entering," he said. No warrant was executed.

His baggage is major. His handler charges just for a visit. He wants his brother to be on the coaching staff. He's big trouble. You can forget about UNC and I don't believe Duke is in the mix like they say either. Don't sleep on Baylor.

Why couldn't this cop just tell the kids to keep their butts out of the empty home and if he catch them in this place again he will arrest them??? If you are doing community policing, you are more than just a cop on the beat that arrest people. If there was drug dealing inside or some other crime happening, I can understand the arrest.
