This again a eyeful example of an incompetent commissioner. All schedule requests should funnel into the conference so that one entity will have control over the schedule. The conference office should have an sophisticated software program to handle scheduling. If they don't then this is another telling sign that the MEAC is the 1960's chitlin' circuit.

When might A&T put a Division 1A opponent on the schedule to help the football budget.

When might A&T put a Division 1A opponent on the schedule to help the football budget. Once NCCU and SSU are added and the conference splits into divisions, teams will have the flexibility to do that. In addition, the team has to be able to compete without looking stupid. That's going to take a few years. The timing of those two things might come together in 2011.

Article in today's News & Record newspaper MEAC Gives Green Light to Expansion February 24, 2009 The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has ended its moratorium on membership expansion, effective immediately, the conference announced. According to commissioner Dennis Thomas, the MEAC will immediately begin reviewing applications for membership. The MEAC is currently reviewing applications from North Carolina Central and Savannah State. MEAC expansion will focus on increasing the membership to 14 members, including 12 football-playing institutions.

Anybody know for sure when spring camp is supposed to start?
I think Lee said something about after the students get back from Spring Break, but I am not positive.
