Del State played us well the first time and just falter at the end. The good thing is that we got cupcakes for the next two games. The one thing I worry about is that Del State and Coppin have big gals to rebounds and can control tempo. Plus I worry about having those early start time for women BB during the tourney. I just feel sorry for the Rams this weekend. We might get 100 points.

The ladies lost a close one...but I observed some things that Bibbs needs to address before tournament time. First...why does she allow Smalley to handle the ball in the open court? IMOH, she is not quick or mobile enough to do that. She blew about five possessions trying to be a guard! Next, the D needs to be able to focus down the stretch. Del State got to the front of the rim way too easy in the last two minutes! You can't give up easy baskets in tournament play. We should make it to the MEAC finals, but we'll have to be more focused to win the championship!

Smalley and Waddell really need to improve their shooting percentage. We are blowing way too many easy baskets down low. They do a good job on the boards, but right now they are liabilities on the offensive end and on the foul line.
Both of them are juniors so it is time they stepped their game up a notch and contributed more. Especially Waddell. She has got to concentrate and start making easy layups.

Defense in the paint has always been their achilles heel. They allow too many points down the lane and on offensive rebounds. Their saving grace has been converting turnovers and an up tempo game. Problems arise when a team breaks their swarming pressing style defense. However, they should be fine, if the seniors step up and be the leaders they can be for each game down the stretch. Championship bound.
Oh, they gave that game to DSU and the game in Corbett was won by the superior team.

It's probably just my imagination (sounds like some song I once heard), Oh well, but anyway, I feel like the transfer PG Bullock played a lot better at the beginning of the season when she wore the short natural (afro) rather than all that weave she currently has on her head. Like I said, it is probably just my imagination but she is not playing as well as she was before the weave.

I think she was getting more minutes back then. It may just be a situation where she needs more time to heat up and get into a groove.

Not going with the weave theory? ;D ;D You noticed the hair too. She played well until that high ankle sprain. It's a mystery.

LOL! I thought the same thing about that weave. I didnt recognize her at first. But, to me, it appears that whe was playing a lot better at the begining of the season. The same could be said for DeBlanc, minus the hair!

All I can say is this. No one wants to lose, but this can be the perfect motivator for this team. All of a sudden, the staff's messages start getting a bit more clear and these ladies won't go into tourney feeling invincible.
With the ladies squad, I can't help but to have nothing but positive things to say.....even with a loss.

Why is it when Bibbs Gets out coached nobody says anything. But if Eaves get out coached you all on his a$$ and wants him fire. Why were we still pressing when we were up 15. Play zone defense and let DSU shoot jump shots. They coulldn't shoot the ball. All their shots in the 2nd half were lay ups. Maybe if she listen to Coach Robinson we would have of won. I was at dis game and was not happy with the way we played or coached.

I don't have a problem with the loss, in fact I welcome it. This gives the coaches a chance to really get into these ladies heads that they are not as great as they think they are when they take shortcuts on the floor or don't play as smart as they should.
This team is dominated by upperclassmen so they should be able to straighten up their defense in short order.

I was at dis game and was not happy with the way we played or coached. I saw the game and I think you are wrong. Nothing wrong with the coaching. She didn't press the whole second half. Most of the half was the half court zone trap mixed in with 3 or 4 other sets. The layups in the second half were not due to the press, it was due to Del St attacking the basket, even in the half court. The kids got outplayed at the end. Tweet was playing matador defense out front on a couple of times down. Wudi and Reisha just weren't quick enough out front against their guards and that's when DSU began chip away. Their guards were beating us down court and creating opportunities in the lane. We weren't aggressively going after loose balls either late in the half and they were. Del St played a hell of a game defensively. BTW, listened to Coach Robinson about what?

This loss is gonna kill our rpi and possibly a chance at a #14 or 15 seed if we win the MEAC Tourney. We could still get a 15 but a 14 would be tough w/o a few tournament upsets in other conferences. A 2-point loss on the road won't hurt as much in the power rankings. Actually only dropped two spots in rpi #93 to #95.
