Actually, the above game article came from the A&T athletic site.

Normally I just read the posts that are on here and take them for what they are worth. After reading this post and the Open letter to Coach Bibbs, I finally have to have my say. Questioning a coach is completely fine and acceptable. Degrading an athlete is not. Athletes read these posts! Say what you want about Eaves but leave the kids out of it. They have done nothing wrong and are trying their best win or lose. A great uplifting comment by Eaves is now thrown in the garbage by your insensitive comments and pictures. So his comment about Julian may have been a stretch, but maybe he said that to help get Julian hyped up and build his confidence. Attack the coach, not the athletes. The same athletes today are the same ones we will be asking donations from later and imagine when we ask and the first thing they think of is how A&T alumni talked about him when he had done nothing wrong. Let's be adults and show some accountability when we post.

Not trying to be funny but this is college sports we are talking about here. We should not have to stroke a college athlete's ego. I watched the game on ESPNU HD, I clearly saw what was going on. I don't say too much during basketball season but last night game was not good. #2, #10 y'all need to step your game up, stop getting ripped of the ball and stop getting constantly blown by off the dribble. I never said you can't improve so get your mind right and play better basketball A&T..

Yeah, you can't pacify these young men. This is a great time for them to learn to grow up. And if a picture (light hearted fun) is enough to disturb him/her, then they were weak to begin with. Furthermore, if we cared so much about people giving for alumni dues, we would've found a way to shorten those refund check lines in like '85. lol

You may have a point. However please understand that the pic I posted of the flying Dr. Julian was meant to lampoon Eaves' ridiculous statement in the paper, not really to bash Julian McClurkin himself. I appreciate his effort, as I do the effort of all the student athletes at this university.
Please do not interpret that post as being mean-spirited or a personal attack against McClurkin. A lot of us here are just trying to bring a bit of levity to the situation.

When one steps onto center stage or mid court before more than two people, one is subjecting themselves to a great deal of scrutiny. That is a part of the maturation process for those that choose to be in the spotlight. The person becomes a public figure and may be subjected to criticism as well as being showered with accolades. Just think of what could be said about our coach and any of our players by the media, if A&T was a high profile national team. They pull no punches, especially the way A&T is performing.
As for donations, any excuse is good (I got an F because the dog ate my paper) for not contributing. All you have to do is look at the annual giving campaign.

So how has McClurkin been performing since this statement? has he performed athletically? Enough to prove that the statement has some validity?

Since the WSSU contest, Dr. Julian has recorded a total of 6 points and 9 rebounds ... in five games.

He did have a nice slam off of a rebound in the BCC game. Other than that I have not seen much of anything from him (McClurkin).

Okokok..... So maybe the guy will not get meac player of the year, and maybe he is not the main scorer on the squad, and maybe the kid doesn't exactly fill up the stat sheet, but let me tell you what I do see out of that young man ( my nephew ) . Everytime he steps on the floor he is consistant. It looks like he heads the press every game forcing I don't know how many turnovers by deflections with that long wingspand. Also the six PTs he scored I believe all six of them were dunks. And the nine rebounds, most of them where o boards creating 2nd chance pts for the team. I see the kid running the plays with great execution, and he plays with a high level of intensity and he's always got a smile on his face ( just look at the program guide) these things to me show me that number five is an important role player on the squad who knows his role. He is coachable, a rare trait. If im not misstakin The Comment about dr. Julian was that the guy is a great athlete. I have seen nothing to show me the contrary.

Can't disagree with anything you posted.
He might not have the stats but I do acknowledge that he always seems to play hard and he is an important part of Eaves' lineup.
I just think Eaves was going way overboard when he called him the most talented player in the MEAC. That was an unnecessary stretch.
Julian, however, appears to be a valuable role player.

BTW: Hoopin4, what is your prediction on where this team will finish the regular season?
Do you think we can move up to second place?

The guys are hovering right around the place they were last year, only difference is last years team had to play a tuff road schedule at the end of the season last year... Our guys this year will have a good home stand at the end. Since we were able to finish third or fourth last year with the same situation we are in now, I just know the guys can pull out of this thing in second.... And if Morgan wants to go ahead and get a few losses that would be a true blessing. They could definatly be ring bound!
