I understand wanting to promote your players and all, but my first reaction when I read this quote in the paper was ....
.
.
Negro please! Julian McClurkin? Best athlete in the MEAC?
Cocaine is a powerful drug ...

What about the hallucinogenic drug "LSD"? What made the man make all of those weird statements? The reporter should have asked him why he didn't play McClurkin until this year (his senior year). He sat on the bench all of last year. Aside from that diatribe, he for some reason injected unc-g, highpoint and elon into his post game interview. I'm sure they were overwhelmed with delight. He was probably correct in stating that their plight is due primarily to the loss of seniors, but two of those teams had winninig seasons with seniors. Something he did not have with seven seniors. However, on second thought, it could have been a very clever ploy in dragging those teams into his interview. By doing so, he is telling the general public that he is not alone (in this region) in having, at this point, an unsuccessful season.
I think he needs to be calm and more thoughtful in his interviews. Take some valium. Let's hope that he and the team can move forward with a string of wins at home (hold court) and on the road. He can have a winning season, if he does a good or better job of preparing the team. The rest of the teams in the conference are having big problems too. So, there is hope.

You guys think it is personal with me, but I'm telling you, Eaves is one of the most incompetent coaches (basketball wise) that you will come across.
Think about it, who in there right mind would make a statement like that.

This says to me that Eaves has a very big problem; he doesn't know good talent. McClurkin in far from the best athlete even at A&T; and for Eaves to believe (or even say) he is the best in the MEAC tells me we have a problem. I realize he may have been trying to pump up his player but he has to be realistic; a MEAC coach must be able to see talent noone else can see and recruit it.

This is McClurkin last year of elgibility. I wonder why he never hit the floor until now. It would be nice to know how many minutes McClurkin has played prior to this year. Offensively, he is better than Coleman but that isn't saying a lot. I think Coach Eaves needs to tighten up his game to close some of his holes in coaching.

The man had Dr. J on his roster for 3 and a half years, but he just waited until the 2009 WSSU game to unleash him.
Yeah, that makes sense to me ....

Thrilla, somebody tell Jazz that an imposter has gotten hold to his password. I can't believe it. I think I'm going into cardiac arrest. I know Eaves must be struggling if Jazz said this. If you keep this up Jazz, some might say you were coldbusted. looooooooolllll

Damn. Well maybe he still has time to take off and dunk from the free throw line in a game this year. Or better yet, do that rock the baby slam over Michael Cooper. The Dawg Pound would go crazy if he did that one.
Dr. Julian: best athlete in the MEAC.

come on folks, this is just eaves running off at the mouth. he's already on record saying this is his best a&t team and we all know that ain't true.
let's just say homeboy has a tendency to exaggerate from time to time.
he's off the hook "for now" as far as i'm concerned. it doesn't help in the standings, but the winston win on the road neutralizes the dsu loss at home.
he needs to bring home a "w" from orangeburg tonight. and i hate to lQQk pass scsu, but if we don't beat howard this weekend in dc, i may never go to another aggie men's bball game at burr gym! we haven't won there in "probably" a decade!

Hey 4XL, based on the official MEAC stats from last season it appears that Dr. Julian did not sit out last year. admin.xosn.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=20800&ATCLID=1514749He played in 2 games for a total of 4 minutes, recorded one steal and scored 2 points.

Not all of us, I think this is his best team also. It's deeper, more talented, more versatile, appears to be more coachable and plays as a team better than any other of Coach Eaves' teams I've seen. If we had seen less of Ewing and more of Alston, more of Wilson and Jones and less of Chaplin and Hernandez, this team may have been even better this year. Also, I don't understand how a non-conference win "neutralizes" a conference loss this time of year, the standing are what matters most, Sure it was decent win and rivalry win and a maybe, just maybe, even a psyche boost, but this was a game we should win (some think by 20+) and if we had loss would it really matter, except for bragging rights? In my mind the closest thing to neutralizing that loss is a win in Delaware and I hope the team is thinking along those lines and not yours.
