Today had to be one of the lowest points in Aggie sports history! Not only do we lose to NSU but we get dominated. As I was following the scoreboard from home it got to the point that I was just hoping we'd score. The inability to put points on the scoreboard continues to haunt this team. With all the talent we have back on offense this is totally inexcusable.

This is past embarrasing. I want my athletics fees back. I feel robbed. I'm paying for a football program that doesn't show up. I'm paying for a basketball team that has rightfully earned the #1 spot on ESPN's 2003 top-clown list. we have "high profile" recruits that produce nothing. we have a team that plays with no fundamentals, no guts, and no heart. we have an offense that hasn't shown up to play a single game in more than a year. we have a coaching staff that tolerates it. we've been chased out of the stadium by a CIAA team, and to add injury to insult, we just got dusted-out by the conference door mat. You can cancel everything from here to Christmas as far as I'm concerned. It can't possibly be that we're still "working out the kinks" after WEEK FIVE. I hope the band plays and the tailgating is good, because we SHO AIN'T winnin' the game next Saturday.

because we SHO AIN'T winnin' the game next Saturday. I agree with most of what you said except the above statement. This is the MEAC. If Del St can beat Hampton, we can win Homecoming. I didn't see or hear the game. Did Glenn or Jones play at all?

I'm totally at a lost after what I saw yesterday. This was the easily the worst prepared A&T team I have ever seen. I thought the Howard 2000 game was the all-time worst, but this one takes the cake. It was like every member of the coaching staff was standing on the sideline, clueless as to how to right the ship once NSU went ahead.
It's as if Bill Hayes never left.

Jones did not play but Hollingsworth started (to my surprise; he didn't even have a full day of practice all week) and Glenn came off the bench in relief the second half.
Whatever you want to say about Glenn's shortcoming's as a passer, he is a true leader and gutsy performer. He came off the bench with a separated shoulder and threw two TD passes to give us a faint hope for a comeback. Unfortunately, he reaggraviated his shoulder on the final series of the game and had to pull himself out . Marshall Glenn won a whole bunch of respect in my eyes yesterday. He was THE ONLY bright spot on a dismal afternoon.

This was beyond embarrassing -- From first to worst. I'm glad I don't live in Norfolk. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it. Total team collapse. Fumbled snaps, fumble kick returns, stupid penalties, poor tackling. The defense was worst this week than any week so far. NSU looked as good as Wake Forest in the first half, passing and running at will. This team was not prepared and made no adjustments. NSU ran what seemed like three or four bread and butter plays that were successful almost very time.
It is now obvious that this team will have pass first to win another game. If you can't run the ball against NSU, who?
In less than a year the, MEAC has gotten better, or we have gotten worst, or Emperor has no clothes. After yesterday’s performance I’m very pessimistic about a winning season. In fact, the two games (NSU and DSU) that were of least concern now loom as a possible winless conference season.
Well, on to homecoming, maybe a miracle is waiting to happen. Because we now need a miracle.

We were terrible in every phase of the game. Special teams, offense and defense. Our coaching staff has been exposed. It's that simple.
OL coach Chennis Berry still has not taught his guys how to pick-up a blitz or create a running lane.
RBs coach Patterson doesn't have the courage or the sense to start his best Rb especially when Hollingsworth was hurt anyway.
WRs coach McNeil can't seem to get the WRs to catch the passes that are thrown directly to their chests.
QBs coach Scialino gets a pass considering what he has to work with.
Special teams coach Scialiano doesn't get a pass because these boys still don't know how to cover a punt nor do they seem to know when to take a knee.
I refuse to believe that the 3-4 is the most effective defense we can put out on the field. A zone-blitz package could work if the blitz puts pressure on the QB and the zone effectively covers the entire field. Memo to coach Lee: since our zone-blitz does neither it should be dropped.
Winning covers a lot of mistakes. Last year we struggled in many of these same areas, but were fortunate to continue to win. This season we're not so lucky.

I've always said in this league you can run six plays and win if you run them effectively.
I'm not shocked. I figured we would lose. But I'm dismayed at the total lack of coaching and playing. I figured it would take four years before we went downhill like this with our coaching staff and by then Small's recruits would be able to cover it up.
There's really no excuse. I'd blow up the whole coaching staff and this time I wouldn't hire any friends or buddies or black college football coaches. Straight division three playoff participant coaches that will coach fundamentals first, second, and last.
I still like Small, but he's gonna have to make some haaaard decisions or somebody above him is gonna make an easy one.

Hang In there Aggies!!!!!!
Always remember that athletics' ups and downs, very often become un-predictable cycles of the good and the bad.
Things will become better in Aggie-Land, the sun will come up tomorrow and the Aggies will always have more good athletics years than bad.
Good Luck!!! on the rest of your season and in every game you play, except against any NCCU Eagle Team (smile).
Congrats on your very nice Aggie Message Board.
Take Care!

I'm still proud to be an Aggie....but damn! I just didn't see a lot from the sidelines or the pressbox. NSU killed us all day with that pass in the flat to Gilmore. I also heard from a reliable source that Greeson may have torn his ACL in the first quarter...can anybody confirm this?! It was only a matter of time before NSU won against us, but I didn't expect us to just give it to them! Small has some tough decisions to make at the end of the season!

Well I wouldn't say it is totally embarassing but it came down to players from Norfolk making 3 big plays.
Gilmore 2 catches in the first half Norfolk td run
I can really see Glenn come up age. You know everybody want to blame the coaches on this or that. My biggest blame is the o- line not making it blocks or putting pressue on the QB. These big guy got to provide some holes out there.
The decision to run the ball up the middle on 4th and 1 when we are making our comback from 27-14 was not a good call but he trusted our line to make the blocks. It just didn't happen.
Norfolk did the same thing late in the 2nd quarter and it backfired.
Well the only good thing about the trip is that I got my lottery ticket maybe they will produce a winner.

Jeff, two points.
One, Gilmore and whoever else they put in the slot was making them big catches (five by my count) every third and long out of the SAME formation. Same play. No adjustment or recognition of the play.
Two, that fourth and one play was the SAME play that netted us minus two yards on that two-point conversion "attempt" against Central. It does not work and the coaches should have recognized it before the season began.
I think it came down to a lot more than Norfolk making three big plays. It came down to us not making any and letting them make little, big, middle plays the majority of the game.
But good luck on that lottery ticket!

I agree with Dooms. We need to shore up our pass defense. Playing 7 to 10 yards off of the receivers is giving the offense to much. The dbs should be up there punching guys in the mouth when they come off the line.
