Everyone has own their favorite, or in a few cases no preference at all, ala Dooms, who thinks the current administrative situation spells failure no matter who gets the job . I can say this with some certainty however for the majority. There will be consensus Aggie support of the selection of a new coach who is a (1) proven commodity and has (2) shown a real competence as head coach with a good staff behind him. That is the real point. If we ever get tht straight then we can really build something tangible. We haven't that aspect with the last two coaching picks, so I understand a lot of the skepticism... to a point. Happy and safe travels wart.

Let's try not to put words into people's mouths, specifically mine.
While I do think the current administration has some serious difficulties that need to be overcome I don't think they will be unable to do the task. I think Wheeler and Battle are very capable. I also think that many folks that work with them will leave no turn unstoned in helping them, which means the problems won't be fixed overnight.
I have a preference, but my main preference is to not speak on it any more than I already have and to not spread other people's foolishness and thereby lessen my own credibility.
I do know that my last response spoke to the fact that we need to understand that putting a bunch of superstars in our uniforms doesn't guarantee victory anymore than holding the budget stagnant for years. There are a number of administrative issues the next coach must be able to assist in correcting if we wish to see A&T get back on a decent level on the gridiron; issues that the past two coaches didn't have an ability to handle. Hopefully the next guy will.

i would have played at A&T but they didnt recruit at Dudley the 2006-2007 year. A&T missed out on alot of talent, (A&T knows) Morgan States' RB Keith Lee #3, Gardner Webb WR/PR/QB Tre Perry, ECU DB Derek Blacknall, and ECSU got 3 players WCU got 1 and Catawba got another. but i do admit Davis could bring some talent to the program but I just hope and pray A&T gets a great recruiter and most important a COACH. (I miss Hayes and im old enough to know) but i have thought about going out next year but i doubt it (Electrical Engineering major)

Are u serious? People are actually voting for Davis. wow. U guys must be DHS alums I voted for Steve Davis and I'm not a DHS alum. However, I believe in casting my vote for a real possibility which I don't believe Rod Broadway is at this point especially considering that he just won the National Black Football Championship. I also recall reading where he signed a contract extension. I realize that these brackets are not the ultimate deciding factor. However, I did think the purpose was to provide a viable and real option(s) for Wheeler Brown to consider.

Broadway 2008 salary
170,000 base 7,500 ( for playing Nevada Div 1 school) 6,000 ( win @ Bayou) 5,000 ( winning Swac West) 7,500 ( winning SWAC Title)
Equals = 196,000
Not to mention that doesn't include SBN title bonus or player academic performance.
Sorry, If he comes he gonna take 1 hell of a pay cut

I have to vote for Davis. I do this for two main reasons. The first being that Broadway seems to be headed to the FBS if his winning ways continue. A&T needs someone that is going to be there for the long haul. The second reason is that Davis is the exact up and comer that could turn around our fortunes. With his ties to A&T and his recent success he fits the bill for what we need.

Davis is still at Dudley and still winning. He had a really young team this year. Look for them to bounce back next year and compete for a championship.

I would definetly take a look at Pete Richardson, and bring Alvin Parker in as an assistant and OC. Pete has about 4 to 5 years of coaching left in him. A lot of Southern folks are regretting letting him go.
