I know it a'int gonna happen but what does everyone think? If I had my way we'd go to the Southern Conference or move back to The CIAA. Almost anything except the SWAC is better than the MEAC. Both conferences are dang near last in the NCAA in most sports so why don't we try something different?

If the Commish persists with this idea of sending our champion to the Heritage Bowl. I say we should leave. Definitely.

Yes, NCA&T is one of the schools that makes the MEAC have such a (sic) strong RPI. gO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND BE LAST..WELL MAYBE NOT THE CIAA..stand up to Thomas and stop the foolish talk. Send him mail and not just email to your boys on this site...

I don't think Thomas is going to last long. I still don't see WSSU or SSU automaticly getting accepted into the conference.

I don't think Thomas is going to last long either, unless a strong majority of the schools go for his plan.
I'd be all for the ciaa, or the big south if about four other meac schools would join us there. The southern wouldn't allow us in.

What up fellas? I hadn't weighed in a lot since the season was over. So I'm welcoming myself back. Still not a official BDF member I see, but that's cool.
Anyway, I'm kinda divided on this SWAC vs MEAC "Black College Championship" game thing. I think having divisions if we get up to 11 or 12 teams is good. You almost have to once you get that many schools or there will be no non-conference play.
I also think having a MEAC championship game is good. 10 game schedule(5 division, 3 in-conference/non division, and 2 non-conference. but I dont think the MEAC champ should pass-up the playoffs. CIAA gets away with it because they start their season the last weekend in August and not on Labor Day weekend.
Just my 2 cents

What bothers me is that it seems that the MEAC bball tourney is really gonna do well in Raleigh. Of course, Thomas is gonna receive a lot of praise for that move. This might cause a lot of alumni to begin to support his plan for football, which IMHO would cause a major rift in the conference. I just hope the MEAC alumni don't go for this backroom political crap Thomas is pulling!

I say let's start contacting THE BIG SOUTH and start a feasabiity study on possible Admission!
They're next in line for the Automatic Bid to 1-AA Playoffs! and since "THE MEAC" wants to give up it's AUTOMATIC BID, WELL! I SAY GOOD-BYE MEAC The "whack" doesn't even have an Automatic BidOnce NCCU & WSSU are admitted to "THE MEAC" we should be leaving anyway, AGGIE PRIDE # 1

I just saw on the news where NCCU needs 2 more sports to be eliglible for the MEAC. They are turning the old Durham Bull's park into their baseball stadium. They didn't mention what the other sport was.
