I just talked to Wheeler Brown and convinced him to allow us, the readers of Bluedeathvalley.com, to officially choose who will be A&T's next head football coach.
Actually, I didn't have a verbal conversation with Wheeler, per se, but I do have mind control over him like Smokey had mind control over D-Bo. Besides, Wheeler is really at his wit's end right now about this decision and really needs our help.
Therefore, I have decided that the best plan of attack would be to line up all the candidates, top to bottom, and then have them go head-to-head in a March Madness tournament style bracket. There will be a total of 16 candidates and you, the fans, will be able to vote in a poll to decide who moves on to the next round.
Note: We will have a selection show on Friday, Nov. 27 after Thanksgiving to announce the 16 candidates.
The actual tournament will then begin that same night and you will have until Dec. 6 to vote for all the first round matchups. Whoever has the most votes moves on; the loser is eliminated. The entire tournament will last 4 weeks until we have a winner ... and a new head football coach.
I like the ideal. Have you considered going with a field of 8 instead of 16? It's going to be tough finding 16 candidates that Big Wheel will consider, plus I believe WB will make his decision before Christmas. Just a thought. Regardless I'm in.
Alright the final 16 candidates have all been seeded and the tournament is about to start.
Here is the official bracket:
Since we got started a little late, you will now have until Midnight Saturday, December 6 to vote for the first round match-ups. In the unlikelihood that there is a tie, the 5 staff members of BDV.com will each vote to decide the winner. Feel free to post comments on the match-up threads to lobby other readers to vote for your particular candidate.
I like to file a formal protest with the Selection Committee that LC Cole was not included the BDV.com Single Elimination Tournament to be the next Head Coach of Aggie Football. His success at the collegiate level should have gotten him in over lesser qualified candidates. I hope this obvious oversight by the committee is not a bias to unsubstantiated allegations of previous NCAA violations, all of which Mr. Cole has been cleared, nor should the factually untrue stories of his abrasive personality be considered.
I’m sure when the Committee has time to review the facts of this issue and due the enormous success Mr. Cole has brought to other football programs, the committee will elect to have a head-to-head match between Mr. Cole and the winner of the BDV.com Single Elimination Tournament to be the next Head Coach of Aggie Football.
We the fans of Mr. LC Cole await the semi-final decision of the Committee, after all, we all want what’s fair and the best candidate to lead Aggie Football.
