Final A&T - 60 Winthrop - 62
Our girls faltered in the second half, shooting 27% from the floor. They shot 50% in the first half! I don't understand why they keep coming out flat in the second half!

Outrebounded and 45% from the foul line. Where were Tweet and Smalley?

The foul shooting is atrocious. You're not gonna beat too many good teams with those numbers.

We really need to win games like this. The league needs it also.

I heard that Tweet, Smalley and Neeley were benched for violating team rules last night.

I am sure if Tweet & Smalley had played we win this game. But tell me who have the girls beat in the last two years other than meac schools and home games against very small D1 schools ? I am glad we are doing very well ( past two years in conference). Hampton beat Georgetown and one other major Div. 1 last year. I love Bibbs, but as I said she is more of a great recruiter than Coach (X&O's).

Just got back from the airport. This is not what I expected. 45 percent from the stripe!! It's not coach's fault. I had to leave at halftime. It's my fault. I just got back from the wedding. If free throws were it, at least that's fixable. Tweet, Smalley and Neely would have made a difference for sure. Winthrop had some tall, thick girls. Sams and DeBlanc were in foul trouble for much of the first half.

I keep trying to tell you......in-game coaching. Adjustments. I only saw the first few minutes of the second half before I had to leave but the only "adjustment" wasn't really an adjustment. Winthrop simply got more aggressive on the boards and used the big bodies. Sams and DeBlanc started the 2nd half after having sat out most of the 1st and they were simply out hustled on the boards and Winthrop cut a 12 pt lead to 7 in the first two minutes of the second half. I dont know but they may have made a defensive adjustment to shut down Taylor-James and keep her from the free throw line in the second half because she was on fire in the first. Anyone that saw the second half can comment. Overall, the coaching looked sound, We made a lot of unforced turnovers like travelling.

We don't know much about this at A&T as of late but coaching a successful team can present more challenges. Our girls know they're good. They hear people talking. And they also know that if they handle business in-conference, no one will remember these games. I would imagine that the coaches are probably handling "motivation" issues. I mean, getting more aggressive on the boards is all about effort (and it's an adjustment as well). Just an opinion/observation.

I was at the game and one of the player parents said they broke curfew. Information like this needs to stay within the team.

Tweet was hurt saturday during the ole miss game and was not going to play sunday. I saw both games ( computer $5.00/game) During the winthrop game: 1.why did Amber Bland wait until the last minute to show up. 2. taylor-james looked tired. the play by play man even said it .she missed 3 straight free throws near the end of game. note: Winthrop had 5 girls in street clothes on the bench (2 hurt & 3 violaing team rules)
