I read the articles, I can also read between the lines, and see with my own eyes. Cheaters will eventually get caught. He did!
Just because one is not convicted doesn't mean he's not associated with cheating or being dis-honest. Just look at your setting President.

Gator let me break it down for you............in Charlotte any kid can go to any school as long as they can provide proof of residency within that specific school district. Every high school in this city had kids attending that didn't really live in that district. As long as Knotts didn't recruit the kids to come to Indy he's clear. The school board went back over four years investigating former players and found no wrong doing. There were a few of kids on last years team that were let go because they didn't live in the district but that happened to lots of schools around here. Knotts would be an idiot to try and recruit players because he is the most hated coach in this city and region. Folks have even tried to set him up time and again to no avail. He doesn't have to recruit because parents from all over the country want their kids to play for him. Some have even wanted to move from as far as California and Texas to Charlotte just so their son can play for Knotts, but he always tells them no. Also, if you think Knotts cheats then explain to me how he was able to come in and win a championship at Indy in his first year with a team full of sophmores?
Gator I would almost bet you $$ that you could find at least one kid on New Berns team that actually lives in another school district. Remember, I'm from eastern NC and I know it was no big deal to go to a school outside of your district.

Gotta agree with flash on this one. Fobbs currently has a career record of 2-22.

flash,
let's talk about this again in about 10 weeks. Also, now that fobbs is winning let's hope he doesn't leave A&T. Remember, we now have a lot of talent. Just like Billy Hayes, fobbs can recruit which means Victories. Again, we'll talk again in 10 weeks.

I'd prefer a coach that makes talent, a la Knotts, who happens to be the subject of this thread.
Knotts appears to "knott" want to leave the state. It seems that any number of football crazy schools in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas, etc. that would pay him much, much more than he's making now would take him.

The same team that although only won 3 games were fighting for wins in five other games. In IAA you will get a few stars and the rest you must teach/coach extremely well to get them to play well. One good thing now is the football program seems stable for the moment. If we catch a brain and hire Knotts, I doubt if any player will leave.....well maybe a kicker, a QB or two and a few DBs. ;D

i think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves when talking about the next coach. but if we are, the next coach had better not be anyone that is a risk.
knotts may very well turn out to be a good college head coach, but he has a zero track record on that level. why take the risk? we can't afford to wait out another risk.
our next coach had better be a proven college "head" coach that is an excellent recruiter and has a successful track record. we can afford to take no more risks...

Decks,
You being from K Town should know that ain't no way a kid could play for one school and live outside the zone. Especially in a rural area.

Sure there is. You just use a different address. That's been going on at least since I was in grade school. Welcome to the 1970s. I'm glad you could join us. Half my East Atlanta neighborhood did it, including my family.

Gator, there were lot's of cases of that happening when I was in high school in Kinston. Heck, even I did it in junior high. I went to a school in the county even though I lived in the city limits. It was easy and convenient because my mom worked at the school. I'm sure if someone wanted to do some digging they could find a couple of players on New Bern's team that's crossing school districts.

Hey, OldSchool, Knotts just completed another undefeated regular season in spite of losing a lot of talent. I suspect there's a good chance he may wind up with the UNC-Charlotte head coaching job if the BOT gives the final approval to start football.

Be careful with that argument, lol, that also pertains to the current President Elect. And you know we don't want to hear that. In Knotts' profession, just remember, it aint cheating unless you get caught.

What about hiring Bobby Williams from Univ of Alabama.. Is there a way to ban this guy from the board. Knotts would pretty much be the smartest guy we could hire. But clearly that's not a prerequisite for hiring at 1601 E. Market (or recruiting for that matter).
