This is my alma mater and where I played ball way back when so I'm biased. But this is more fundamentally solid football team in all phases of the game. Extremely well coached by Tommy Norwood and probably has 8-9 1-A or 1-AA college prospects easily.

Ragsdale quarterback Tim Romer threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns.
JAMESTOWN -- Call it coach's block.
Tommy Norwood's Ragsdale team had just improved to 10-0 with a 34-0 victory over Southwestern Randolph on Monday night, but all Norwood's coach-savvy mind could do was make a checklist of the Tigers miscues he could use as a teaching measure.
"You always want to give them something to work on," he said. "But 10-0, you really can't say anything about that."
Yes, the Tigers fumbled twice -- one more than they had all season -- and had two touchdowns called back by penalties in the second half, including a 65-yard fumble return by linebacker Billy Stone.
But other than that, it was a pretty impeccable victory. Nine different Tigers carried the ball for a total of 203 yards, led by D-onovan Smith's 63 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Tim Romer threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 7-of-12 passing. The defense registered its first shutout since the season's opening week and held its third straight opponent and sixth overall to single digits.
The teams were nearly identical in yardage in the first half, but Ragsdale struck on a pair of quick scoring drives. Romer hit Luke Sonricker over the middle for a 33-yard touchdown on the Tigers' first play from scrimmage, and Smith capped a two-play drive after a Cougars turnover by scampering for a 16-yard score up the middle.
Here's how charmed things were for Ragsdale. Defensive lineman Cedric Ellison, the biggest player on the Tigers' roster at 301 pounds, pounced on a second quarter fumble like a thoroughbred shooting out of the gate. When Southwestern countered by having its biggest player, 275-pound lineman Branson O'Hara, try an onside kick to open the second half, the Tigers pounced on it and made the Cougars pay a few pays later on Smith's 1-yard touchdown plunge.
Southwestern never got closer than the Tigers' 25-yard line, and Kenyon Jones' 32-yard touchdown run in the closing moments put the finishing touches on Ragsdale's Senior Night victory.
The Tigers, who have outscored their opponents better than three-to-one, are off this Friday before traveling to Asheboro for what should decide the Mid-Piedmont 3-A crown. It's the first time since Norwood's first season at Ragsdale that the Tigers' championship hopes come down to their final game.
They'll take a few days off this week to recuperate, but Norwood will be ready for them with a few more spots to polish.
"We have to get better," he said, "and we will."
