Darryl Cherry was a hell of an athlete. Darryl was good at every sport he played in high school in Charlotte. Darryl played football and basketball at A&T. I played against Darryl in the 1965 Shrine Bowl Game (before intergration) in Winston Salem. The brother was a dam good RB.

Cherry could shoot the NBA 3, and so could Outlaw. However, there are just too many guys to name (some you forget about ) that were great players for A&T. |

harold royster is one of the most "underrated" aggie ballers in history...

Lonnie Klutz was a behemoth in the paint and on the boards. One of A&T's great leapers with a great strong body. He came very close to playing for the Bulls.
Harold Royster was a great pickup for Littles, which gave him a tall, tall front line with Pipkins and Brown
(transfer from Temple).

The past 10 years of A&T BB has been rough. I cannot think of any player during this time that I would put in the greatest category.

Two could be considered the greatest BB player in the last 10 yrs.
Amber Bland and Brittanie Taylor James. AB and BTJ maybe the greatest WBB player ever at A&T!

I agree aggierob. I think you are the only one that has even mention any WBB players. Thanks!! It does say "The greatest BB player in A&T history" not greatest MBB player in A&T history.

i think the only men's player over the last 10 years to even come close would be steven rush. if nothing else, he's one of the greatest long range shooters in a&t history...

(I'm not even gonna mention guys like June Harris, Al Carter, Al Attles and James Sparrow, 'cause he wasn't even close to that!) i don't think he's that far off from brawner. brawner had a better handle and could create his own shot. but rush was a better outside shooter. overall, i wouldn't consider rush to be in the same class as those guys, but rush could shoot the ball with the best of them. so as a shooter, rush has to be in the top 5 in my opinion... |

OK...anybody remember Sylvester "Soapy" Adams??? (I think that I have his name right...I was in elementary school when he was playing at Tee in the mid-to-late 1960s for Cal Irvin.)
He was a quick, little point guard. I have no idea where he was from.

I just remember that he was a great ball-handler and a vital cog in Coach Irvin's attack. Would you put him in that "Greatest Aggie Guards of All-Times" conversation?  |
