www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/1081768.htmlAggie-Eagle moves to CharlotteFrom staff reports To accommodate the anticipated crowd, N.C. Central will move its home football game against longtime rival North Carolina A&T to Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, essentially making it an away game for NCCU. The game will kick off Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. Memorial Stadium seats up to 24,000 fans, compared with a capacity of 10,000 at N.C. Central's O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium A crowd of 19,320 saw last year's game at Aggie Stadium in Greensboro. Since 1994, the average attendance for the rivalry game is 35,478, including a high of 48,001 at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh in 1997. N.C. Central's 27-22 victory over the Aggies last year was marred by a postgame brawl involving players on both sides.

Damn, exactly where I didn't want it. Shame, just a shame.
Before I get bashed about how great Charlotte is. I'm just sick of going to Charlotte for everything. Because its' at Memorial it wont be downtown where the action is, so its a lost cause to even be in Charlotte.

A&T, Central, or Winston has got to man-up and build a 40,000 seat stadium to avoid that money going elsewhere.

A&T and Winston have stadiums that can hold the crowds. IT is only Central that has the problem right now...so i dont think money is leaving our pockets..this is not our home game to complain about unless were getting some money off it.

I much rather Central or Winston get all the money than they have to share it with the city of Charlotte.

Winston's Stadium is fine. They hold the game pretty well.
NCCU is just dumb because they now have to travel to Charlotte. Share some of that money and make their fans pay $60 in gas to get there. By game day that $60 may be $80.
They were too proud to just play it at Aggie Stadium again and pay A&T huh? We cant get ahead for hatin on each other. Damn shame!
What does the game between us and SCSU normally cost to play there? Anyone know?

central probably didn't have a better choice. they couldn't play it on campus and they probably couldn't work out a deal with unc, duke, or nc state. all it means for aggies is that we have to drive 30 minutes further and we play at a nuetral site. we'll probably have more fans there than them. i'd say its not a bad deal for aggies…

Its probably a better deal for NCCU too. They are bound to make more money from 24000 in Charlotte than they would from 10000 on campus, even after paying the city.

Does anyone wants to guess how much money A&T received in total for all those games in Raleigh?.......... How about what A&T received in 1997 from having 48,000 fans at the game?...........,Hint: A&T made four times that amount in the 2006 home game against WSSU. Think about not only those tickets sales but the concessions which NC State kept, parking, programs and booth rental fees. A lot of damn money neither schools saw or received.

What people don't understand when we played games in Charlotte gas was not nothing like it is today. Who know how much gas will be by Oct. time frame.
They could have easily added additional seats to the Durham County stadium and that way you will not lose your home base. We can make some of the most stupid business decision as a race Africa Amercan.
I talk to a number of NCCU alumnis who said they not going to the game. It sound like they are going to need a strong Charlotte crowed to make up the difference.
Well since I'm from Winston I will go home to see mom and catch the WSSU vs Howard game.

Why do we care where the game is played? It's not our home game. Besides they weren't going to get a better deal anywhere else. It only cost's around $6,500 to rent Memorial Stadium.

Both A&T and Central have strong alumni bases in Charlotte and that area is prime recruiting territory. Since it isn’t our game, I don’t see a problem. I just want us to take care of business while in the QC (team and band) and impress some kids.
