If for some reason the administration allows Fobbs to stay, How many games will they set as a benchmark for even considering extending his contract. If it were up too me, he'd be a lame duck coach just waiting for his contract to expire.... If we win 2 or 3 games, he's gonna claim improvement, although that still does not cut it..

This is not a far-fetched idea especially since it seems that Battle has other important things on his mind than sports. If Fobbs wins 4 games or even better wins 5 games next year, I think he will survive another year and if he wins 5 games in his fourth year......sorry fellows I could see a two year extension.

Truth of the matter is if Small had gone 3-8, 3-8 and 10-3 instead of the reverse he'd still be coaching here.
If Fobbs starts out 5-1 or so (and it's not as laughable as it seems) next year she'll extend him and with Battle's blessing. The question is would he even want the extension?
If Fobbs had to pick two of his four years to lose damn near every game, he picked the right two.

Hey, who's he gonna lose to?
Winston? Naw. If he does get rid of him. Central? Naw. Howard? Naw. FAMU? Naw. Norfolk? Probably not, the qb is gone. Hampton? Toss up, with a heavy leaning to probably a loss. Cookman? Toss up, with a leaning towards a win. Morgan? Naw.
Steat? Will probably cream us, but the game should actually mean something next year. Del State? I don't know how much they have coming back.
Negro directional state A,M&N? Naw.
If any of these games come down to coaching all bets are off. But most should be determined by player experience and we will have the most experienced squad in the conference. If he can't win with that then there's really no point in inviting him back for another year, financial constraints be damned.

I never looked at that way, but if he can hold on to the players he's got and keep them in school with passing grades, I think he'll turn the corner very successfully. I just hate the fact that we can't hire any more coaches, like an OC and special team's coach!

Why don't y'all positive thinkers find another forum.
Only way this n**** wins 5 out of 6 is if those 5 are playin wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off. I don't think there are 5 teams, again, not knowing the schedule that this fool can out coach, and that's what it'll come to because I don't think 5 teams will suck that much. With the players returning, talent won't be an issue, which it aint now. Lots of teams will be just as talented as A&T; therefore, coaching will determine if n**** gets 5 outta 6 wins. Can n**** out coach 5 other coaches?

dh, with a senior-laden squad that has lost quite a few games in the last few minutes, he will win in spite of his inability to coach. If we have a close game in the fourth, we'll lose it.
But the fact is this year a whole lot of meac teams had a whole lot of returning starters. It just so happens most of their returning starters are seniors this year. Most of ours are juniors.
I'm not basing my expectations off his coaching skill. Hell, I expect homey to lose a couple we should have clearly won. But we'll have more experience than any other team in the league.
That's why I'm saying the year after that we will probably go winless again.
