Gerber left because of money, not because of any problems with Hayes. I knew Gerber's wife and she talked about the situation. Gerber and Hayes did not always agree but more money was the main issue.

(3. The third year will allow him to have a better compliment of his players to run his offense, we are beginning to score and play decent most of the game)
That does not mean we are going to win!!!!!....??!!!!!!!

What da hell is "his offense?" It aint like he running some kind of system like the wishbone. From what I've seen, it's straight I formation. What's his offense?
BTW: The team is improving and scoring with mostly George Small's players. For example the offensive MVP is Mike Ferguson. Guess who signed him?

Small won a MEAC championship with Bill' splayers. This is his second year. Meaning he has had two classes to come in and they are sophmores.

Plain and Simple, we expect a lot from Fobbs considering this is his first head coaching job, the team has improved and if he won his close games there will be some reduction in this head hunting rhetoric, I will give him next year because: 1. This is his first job, but he did clean out this mess, case in point only 8 seniors honored with only two retained, others transfers and walk ons ( by all means read the N&R piece on the fullback- trey green last week) 2. He must improved on the retention of his recruits, he lost Spencer but the young man clearly knew he wasn't engineering material just yet, transfers are typically a problem that just migrated to your campus with the hopes of getting wins before something bad happens or if you are lucky they entered the draft 3. The third year will allow him to have a better compliment of his players to run his offense, we are beginning to score and play decent most of the game 4. I like the approach of playing freshman early, as team improves this will help in the special team area which is not quite all there yet, the upper class men will naturally take over more starting roles and eager freshman will play on special teams. This provide a feel of the game speed and allow meaning contributions to be made. 5. I would like to see Fobbs with a full coaching staff before we call for his head As all know we are tired of losing, I am sure he is too but the team is still continuing to plug away regardless of a win this season its important the team makes a strong finish against the two struggling teams left on the schedule there should be no blowouts or ugly games, hopefully we get Garth back next season, Caldwell has came on as of late and Garth height could make some of the plays Caldwell's (has a big heart) height didn't allow him to make during the season. Aggies, lets focus on basketball instead of beating up on the coach at minimum we have to give him to the end of next season next year so lets chill that for now. I think its only reasonable to keep watch on replacements what alumni of an 0- for @#$ team wouldn't, so Eaves and Bibbs you are on the clock now to produce, both squads have the basics to be in the mix. BTW lets also look for football recruits not coaches that may work in our favor, hope everyone made it back home safely to their love ones I will agree it is the administration fault for A&T not competing for a conference title but it is Fobbs fault for not being able to win one game. He is going to do something that only sorry azz Morgan State did in the history of MEAC football and that is going winless two striaght years. Fobbs has already done something no coach in the history of Aggie football ever done and that is to go winless in a season and now he is on a greased firepole to two winless season.

Good Questions, and hopefully most of you have a better answer than I do to stop the madness, I repeat I don't like this losing no more than anyone on the board, I simply watch the game, review statistics and relationship to wins-losses, status in conference play, etc.--- with respect to my reference to the fact that the team is improving.
Its good to know that George Small have left some contribution to the program, several of my boys play high school ball against him, he had my full support just like now with the current coach, maybe I stupid, if Fobbs won his close games this year I don't think we would be having this discussion.
Hopefully the ends ($$$$) will work itself out with respect to " the day when the head coach has a full coaching staff", it would be nice to have a thread that would focus on the cost (the amount of funds that could be reasonably be raised to have the staff that could position our program to compete on a national scale. I truly feel we don't have the resources to sustain the current program, how do we get someone else without one year of planning, no just off pis#$%%d on a win-loss tip (this is a serious matter, its a four year committment at a minimum).
As far as the type of offense, I haven't seen a playbook or film in decades so be patient with my limited knowledge, again I just review the information as previously mentioned, I mentioned previous in a post that finally appear that you could see what they were attempting to do on offense. My limited knowledge just reveal to me that whatever it is, it has quick-strike or big play capability, my years of A&T --Hayes football didn't have anything like this( of course he was winning, or a ton of playoff games, but I guess we did beat NCCU), on Saturdays I watch other major ballers like others on the board, these teams do run some type of a spread offense if thats my best guess.
So again, if he is to be canned, our ends ($$$), don't position us to make any move this season, he should get his third year with a specific set of goals, particularly a winning season, my limited information tells me that he had only one spring with this team and again the improvement I see, it warrants another spring and fall, if he fails on my ( retention concerns) or wins that it!!!
I don't have the quick fix but apparently there is someone out there that could better give us a winning season next year and handle the other matters.
Hope Juice gets up and running from the ankle sprain , would have been nice to represent on MNF

Fobbs has not had two full years of recruiting because he was hired in the in early 2005. I believe his first full class of recruits was this year.

Wonder what his recruiting punch line will be this year? Last year he said "Come play for us and you can play right away". That line wont work with a load of seniors expecting to start coming back.

Most of the time i agree with giving time to turn a program around. But this is pathetic. No wins last year and no close games. Fine blame that on smalls and no recruits and andbody else because its your first year. But there is no excuse this year. He has had the same opportunity as any previous A & T football coach. The talent is on the field. He is not producing wins. One or two maybe there is an argument to retain him. But 20 straight L's is inexcusable. The time is now.

People who are still blaming Small need their heads examine. Y'all did not give Small any excuses when his new offensive coordinator was dismissed in the middle of Small's last season and his team ended the season with five straight loses.
The solution of firing didn't work then, it didn't work before then and it is not going to work now because none of y'all can get together and present enough money to buyout Fobbs contract and hire a proven successful coach in December with a pay the new coach will be happy take.

I don't think the "his players" line will work because fotts is a bad coach.
