The first qualification is that the new coach knows how to teach players how to recover an onside kick. But the major "then what" is...........to fire Re-Todd. Then, we'll be able to get something done. lol

The question this post asks (although it asks the question in a different way) is what I was getting at with these equations:
1. Bill Hayes --> George Small --> Lee Fobbs 2. Alfonso Scandrett --> Charlie Davis --> Dee Todd
Who's to say we can't do worse? Because clearly we can.
Honestly, two closet racist A&T athletic directors have refused to even consider Mike Clark; and he's fully aware of that. At this point he is in a better situation at Bridgewater than he would be at A&T.
I was discussing the virtues of Clark with a few Aggie Club members back when Small was on his last leg. They were like "no way" and I said I'd much rather we hire him because we want to hire him than miss out on him when we need to hire him. That's the point we're sitting at now.
One of the Coles or the cat coaching Salisbury are probably the only experienced guys we can get to come considering the "woe is us we can't raise no money" and "I've got a school to run I'm perfectly ok if the guy loses all his games" aura around 1601.
Of course all this is moot because unless one of the 0-fers quits neither is going anywhere.

Few Questions: ... Isn't this guy still on the market? Doesn't he have the requisite coaching experience? Didn't he go to a MEAC school? Wasn't he a hall of fame LINEman and LINE coach? Aren't our lines the ones that need the most coaching? Wouldn't he be willing to take significantly less after being embarrassed by the NFL to the point where no one would hire him as a position coach? Just thoughts.

Art Shell and Billy Joe are exactly what we don't need. How about this? A young proven coach who just so happens to have a top 25 team in HS in the Nation in CDharlotte. Or maybe the coach of the top 25 team in Gaffney, SC. Or the white guy down at Bridgewater DIII.
Bringing back these old coaches does nothing but continue us on the path we are going. I'm not for the movement yet and the main reason is once we fire fobbs people want to bring back Hayes or Billy Joe, or someone who is damn near 70. Have we not learned anything from Florida State

He's the one for us hands down.......... dj98, what's the name of the OC under Hayes who was white that left our program, after a dispute with Hayes, for Randolph Macon up here in Ashland, VA? I heard that he was really good, and had very good relations with our players. I can never remember his name, but if what I've heard about him is true, he may be a good candidate, if available.

Actually, he had more of a run-in with Hicks, the white Def Coordinator under Hayes. I like Hicks. I would have hired him before..............never mind

Plain and Simple, we expect a lot from Fobbs considering this is his first head coaching job, the team has improved and if he won his close games there will be some reduction in this head hunting rhetoric, I will give him next year because:
1. This is his first job, but he did clean out this mess, case in point only 8 seniors honored with only two retained, others transfers and walk ons ( by all means read the N&R piece on the fullback- trey green last week) 2. He must improved on the retention of his recruits, he lost Spencer but the young man clearly knew he wasn't engineering material just yet, transfers are typically a problem that just migrated to your campus with the hopes of getting wins before something bad happens or if you are lucky they entered the draft 3. The third year will allow him to have a better compliment of his players to run his offense, we are beginning to score and play decent most of the game 4. I like the approach of playing freshman early, as team improves this will help in the special team area which is not quite all there yet, the upper class men will naturally take over more starting roles and eager freshman will play on special teams. This provide a feel of the game speed and allow meaning contributions to be made. 5. I would like to see Fobbs with a full coaching staff before we call for his head
As all know we are tired of losing, I am sure he is too but the team is still continuing to plug away regardless of a win this season its important the team makes a strong finish against the two struggling teams left on the schedule there should be no blowouts or ugly games, hopefully we get Garth back next season, Caldwell has came on as of late and Garth height could make some of the plays Caldwell's (has a big heart) height didn't allow him to make during the season. Aggies, lets focus on basketball instead of beating up on the coach at minimum we have to give him to the end of next season next year so lets chill that for now. I think its only reasonable to keep watch on replacements what alumni of an 0- for @#$ team wouldn't, so Eaves and Bibbs you are on the clock now to produce, both squads have the basics to be in the mix. BTW lets also look for football recruits not coaches that may work in our favor, hope everyone made it back home safely to their love ones

No. 5 is not going to happen. Remember we are paying him to be head coach and OC.
