Its one thing to cancel all your Saturday afternoon plans, send the wife to the mall and listen to your alma mater get the hell beat out of them on the radio. Its another thing entirely to listen to said azzwhipping as announced by Spencer Gwyn and Co. Their play-by-play skills are about as bad as our run defense and tackling. I'm well aware that Gwyn, Mel Swan and Billy Covington have done a lot for A&T throughout the years and that they now practicallly work for free. But dammit, its time that they get forced into retirement (obviously they are not getting the subtle hints) and some new blood is brought in. Bottom line: You get what you pay for. Just listen for a minute to Lafayette's game webcast and then click back to WNAA and its like two different games are going on. It's like two different sports are going on. Okay Thriller, you have been complaining a long time about the A&T football comedy announcers. I'll give you credit for your effort. But things are different now. For the past 10 years the football team was so bad that no one paid any attention to the other stuff. Hell we were trying to win more than two games so who cared what the radio announcers sounded like. During that time the announcers matched the team...everybody sucked! But when Rod took the head coaching job, everything changed. We started playing better football and we got our swagger back. And we have decided that we would no longer accept crap any more. So as far as I'm concerned, these guys need to fired like the losing coaching we had in the past. It's a new day and we are not going to go another season with this comedy act!

If we gonna EVER get out of the woods and become first class---these three brutha mans gots to go. Chancellor Martin, Dr. Welbourne, "Dowdy" please, please make a move so I won't have to listen to Spencer Gwynn say that the center "passed" the ball to the QB. Please, so I won't have to wait over a quarter to hear what the score is. This is 2011-HELLO!!!!!

These are 2 of the MOST "on point" entries EVER!!! on this site; that "that" broadcast team does it almost for FREE,is NO EXCUSE for their p i t i f u l performances over the YEARSSSSS; GRANTED, they don"t know any better, but their shortcomings become the responsibility of Univ. staff to MOVE THEM OUT (years ago) GRACEFULLY...graceful REMOVAL is not possible now, since the INEPTITUDE has gone UNdealt with for decades...some of the phrases they use are SO OFF BASE.

People would tune in just hear us debate every little thing, all the way down to Broadway's hat choice, and the post game debate would be classic. ;D Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith would seem like a baby debate.

Now...that is funny. But, I'm willing to put money on it...if you gave us those responsibilities for real, the gameday experience would take on a whole new life. And I'd enjoy my BoJangles two-piece just as long as they give me a tea for free.

yep, hook me and monster up! we could have our own version of "pti", espn's pardon the interruption. besides, i use to be an announcer at wnaa when i was a student. had my own show weekdays during afternoon rush hour from 5pm to about 9pm called "the traffic jam". i still have cassette tapes of some of my shows and promo's.
heck, i use to want to go into broadcasting but i didn't because i thought the career path would not provide enough security over the long term. if i lived in greensboro i would do aggie commentary for free if they'd let me. heck, i'd even do "play-by-play" for free. of course as students, we use to broadcast for free anyway and we loved it!
back in the day, wnaa use to give out broadcaster of the month awards and i was one of the first ones to receive it. its probably not there anymore, but there use to be a large plaque on the wall at the radio station when the station was located in price hall (don't know if its there anymore) that displayed the broadcaster of the month awardees...

that's funny. i watched broadway at his weekly press conferences during football season and his body language spews "don't ask me the wrong questions". it seems like everybody is afraid to ask him tough questions at the press conferences and i can understand why...
