The Machine is a sleeping dragon that will remain in that state until the current "head" is replaced......

You are definitely right that statement How do yall explain the foot put up in Southern in Vegas that year? That group had heart, and they were led by the same dude we have now. I think we will see the same in LA this year...

I heard them playing in the band room, building or what ever you want to call it. I don't know how many members they have but they sure sound good.

Wasn't that the same year they won the deal down in Charlotte?? The year right after Doc left, correct?? Its kinda the same deal as the football team. We won the MEAC championship the same year. However, in both instances the achievements came on the shoulders/heels of what was left behind by Doc and Hayes, respectively. Its been a steady decline ever since. It hurts me to say, but I don't see the fire nor the tenacity once exhibited by the Machine. Talent has never been the question for either as far as I'm concerned. Both Ruff and Smalls should have left on the same inadequate boat they came in on. IMO, borrĂ³n y cuenta nueva.

With that said, "THE BLUE & GOLD MARCHING MACHINE will be ALRIGHT, whether BIG or SMALL, they always will put on a decent SHOW!
Dr. Ruff is my "FRAT BRO" and I have confidence in him and the Products he has produce thus far, so I expect them to be alright,
My concern is, with the TRIP to LA Looming, everybody will join to travel and DROP out after the game

I'm just going to say it and I dont care if this isn't in a private area. The band has truly gotten their @!#es whipped the last few years. Period. No one fears them anymore unless you talking to a CIAA fan or a child. No swagger, just no swagger at all. No attitude, maaaan damn. I used to like to sit near them. Now, just give me a reserve seat on the 50 because they boring.
Sorry, but I just had to say it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I've enjoyed the band these past few years. I'm quite sure a quality product will be produced. They continue to represent proudly. Who cares about them being feared by other schools, it's all about quality shows.

The band hasn't had the same intensity, passion, heart, and swagger since 2004. (And other alumni I hang with tend to say that is a generous estimate.)
But that can be considered a matter of opinion but the facts are undeniable...The numbers of the band have decreased year by year since 2003. Popularity among people on campus (and around the area) has declined year by year. And now there are people who aren't going to march every game being begged to come back to beef up numbers they lack (and band camp is over tomorrow!).
Numbers don't lie. If people liked what the band was going (as they did in the past), there would be no problem with retention or recruitment.

This is one thing to think about. In the past if the band was making a big trip everybody and their mommy was trying to March. The band is going to L.A. and they are begging people to march. That is a damn shame. It starts from the top and if the kids do not have confidence in the director.... This ship has been sinking since late 03 and everybody is getting off so they do not drown. The Blue and Gold Marching Machine = Titanic

So what is it that the band director is doing or not doing that causes discord.
