What is the beef between the pep band and housemusic-man... something is going on there like a dysfunctional family!!! The pep band should play 90% of the time and have it worked out between the 2 who is going to play at certain times. But having the pep band there to warm the bench is ridiculous!!! The band should be playing for the ladies game..... before... during.... and after the mens game!!! I saw security stop the band from playing after the FAMU game while people were filling out the door.... I'm like now the band can't play when people are leaving!!! Who are these morons that do all they can to surpress school spirit!!!

I do know that the musicman Keith McCluney has a problem with the band as a whole. He just does not like them at all and he shows his dislike for them

Stop puttin AMM out there like that.. He has no problem with the band. He might have a problem with the bands desire to operate and show up when they want to .. just like the rest of us on here. Let it go.. !!

I saw security stop the band from playing after the FAMU game while people were filling out the door.... I'm like now the band can't play when people are leaving!!! Who are these morons that do all they can to surpress school spirit!!! The Band Director and the AD need to have a come to Jesus meeting. If security cut them off someone ordered it. If that happened, folk need to grow up and put their egos in their pockets. It seems as if the band is treated like another CD that you drop in and out at will. The problem is in our zeal to become more like the NBA, we have lost sight of the fact that this is college. The players want to be like the NBA and we seek to create an atmosphere more akin to that. Therein lies the dysfunction. In a traditional environment the band controlled the hype. The band director chose when to play and what to play to arouse the fans and the flow of the game. In the new environment it's not and that's OK but... Someone needs to step up in a leadership role and work it out. If folk still have their panties in a knot over Atlanta, understand that that is the biggest event in HBCU band world and it's one day each year and draws 75,000 people. ESPN specifically talked about the band in their article and someone forgot that. It's obvious that from prior threads that it's difficult for departments to work together and because of that people step on each others toes and piss each other off. If A&T is supposed to be an inter-disciplinary university, then demonstrate it and communicate and cooperate. If the athletic department wants to create and maintain an NBA like environment then all parties need to sit down and workout what that means. I proposed on the board during football season putting together a gameday committee, but it was implied that there were too many bureaucratic barriers in the way. I hope it works out. ...And folk wonder why it's difficult for US to capitalize on success?

I like what AMM has done..... but if you have a pep band at the game they should be given 1st priority to playing. The bottom line is there is no communication out there and I'm not just talking about AMM and the pep band.
1) The pep band should be more coordinated with the cheerleaders and with Blue Reign. When the cheerleaders step on the court to do a dance routine play something they can dance too. Even if that means changing the song you intended to play..... work with them!!
2) Blue Reign should dance in between time outs also..... with the band playing the music so there has to be communication there!!
3) The band should play until the arena is empty and if the people who stay and clean up Corbett wants them to play while they work then so be it... if the band is not ready to go home!!!
4) The environment you want to create in Corbett is one where people want to be there and one where people hate to leave when the game is over!! That way you get the crowd who doesn't care about the game.... they're in Corbett because Corbett is the place to be on game day!!!
5) So the instructions to the pep band & AMM would be to do a better job at working together because the main goal is to ..... turn this mother out.... before.... during.... and after!!!!!
6) PSS: If no one is going to sing the National Anthem then the pep band needs to play it....

I sat beside one of the assisant band directors at the game last night and they do have a problem with the way the pep band is treated at the games. He stated that he don't know why they are ask to play at the games if they are not allowed to play that much. I think they feel that maybe there should just be a DJ at the game and not the pep band. Back in "the day" the pep band was one of the highlights of the B-Ball game. Not anymore!

WELL GUYS.. !! Your nostalgic wishes have been granted..!!!! The band will get all the play time they want for the last two games. I called Aaron this morning!!! See.... the voice of the people can and will be heard..!!!
PS. Uhh Krazykev, posted and was speculating that theres some "beef" i think they called it, between me and the band. Please dont speak on stuff like that.. Especially when there are NO facts to back that up. .. Thats how drama gets started.( and we have enough of that around here) FOR THE RECORD...Aaron and I and the rest of the band directors including Dr. Ruff.. get along extremely well.

I think the perceived "Beef" was an outsider’s perspective of the lack of coordination of the talent, one stepping on the other, not taking turns, etc. As Maxell stated, leadership should prevail, and its looks like it did. Thanks for stepping in. Everybody wants the same thing, a win and a goodtime while winning. Maybe the result will be better atmosphere.
