Dooms, your wife is right. It seems as if when band camps start, they all get together and come up with the same song and dance routines.

Dooms, your wife is right. Don't let her read that. Hampton did this James Brown show in the stands when they played W&M a few years ago, right down to the drum majors doing background dancer moves. It was incredible! Then they hit the field and humped the air and all the normal crap for the halftime show. Bust this: -Enter the field playing Smash Sumthin' and make the interlocking A&T. -Spread the A and the T appart and make the ampersand in the middle while playing some song in the top ten that the other 100 or so hbcu bands ain't playing. -Spell Aggie Pride while playing the Irish Spring theme song. Have the announcer refer to us as "the cleanest sound around" or something. If I hear the band announcer tell how well we blow ever again I will renounce my membership and pee on my Maryland Aggie tag. -Make a formation and let the dancers dance to an uptempo jazzy beat. -Play funk instead of the latest top 20 trash and do 70s dances. -Leave the field playing a gospel song as the announcer says "y'all need Jesus for clapping for that" and leave a good 30 seconds on the clock so you don't have to run off the field like coons. Different, entertaining.

I really like Caravan. Great musicality and a whole lot better than the usual and totally different from the "please hump my leg" crap most bands play.

PV's band had not entered the stadium when the teams ran out onto the field, so when A&T played "Smash Sumthin" the whole stadium got hyped. The majority of the fans were not affiliated with either school. A lot of kids from L.A. area. They were all up hyping like they were aggies. It sound really good in that big stadium.
