One thing about basketball or any sport for that matter is that numbers can be very decieving. Its probably more so the case in basketball. You can not judge a kid until you see him play is the bottom line. You dont know what system these guys played in, you dont know how strong the conference is, nor do you know how good his teammates are. Didn't one of the kids he signed play next to a guy going Div1? Averaging double digits next to a DIV1 prospect is not easy, I know. There are guys in the NBA that averaged 14pts and 8 rebounds in high school.
For example, what would you think of Nick Demuro(QB for Athens Drive)? He had 4050 passing yards this past season and averaged 320 yards per game.
Thats sounds amazing doesn't it. But the guy just throws dump passes to his fast a$$ receivers and they run for 50 and 60 yards after the catch. You tell us to stop getting excited, but I'm telling you to stop being so negative.

aahhbigboy, They offered the kid to walk on his first year then he will earn a scholarship his second year. They offered that to Chavis and Uzochukwu from Northeast. Uzochukwu's father is a professor at A&t but they both wanted a scholarship now and went to USC Upstate. They will be playing Unc-G on Sat if you want to see them play.

Ashbigboy, These things you know for a fact that no other teams were interested in these players? No he doesn't, he's just negative. I'm not a "support or die" type of person. What I am is a "assume I dont know better than the person paid to do it" type of person. If thats who the man recruited and he says they are good I'm not going to shoot him down before I even see them play. That's what you're doing. would you do that to Coach K, would you do that to Dean Smith, or Gary Williams? That man is paid to evaluate talent and he hasn't proved that he cant do it, so all I'm saying is stop being so negative out the gate. You know what, stay negative. We need kats like you around sometimes.

There are some very good coaches at A&T. It seems most alumnus just concentrate on how football is doing and then basketball.

[ You think Carolina or Duke walk up to kids that they really want and ask them to walk on? That's a joke man. That's not recruiting. It's especially a joke to see the players that came in (on scholarship) after they wouldn't offer Josh one. All except for #23. He's gonna be good as hell. I can speak to UNC-Chapel Hill. The Tarhells do it all the time, asking players to walk-on who are not top blue chippers nationally. Dean Smith was the king at doing it.

Jazz, come on man. They UNC, they can do that. Does App State do that mess? Maybe in football, but not no basketball. Hows about 'Liz City? Gardner-Webb? One of the top four nicknames in the history of this site. One other one being Fiasco Fobbs. The other two both apply to another person in athletics.

Well, I wasn't trying to compare the two programs. I was just answering the question that agghbabyboy asked. Really, who besides SC Upstate offer the guys a scholarship in D-I?

Hell if I know.
Question, if one kid is Uzo's son, then theoretically he wouldn't have to pay tuition, right? If that's the case, couldn't we have just offered his teammate and talked them both into coming?

Ahhhhh. My pappy did the same for me. So basically we probably didn't have a shot at either kid?
