FAMU & DEL ST. should be ashamed!!! Your teams are in the finals and your fans are not representing!!! But to all MEAC fans... there should be 12,000-15,000 people at the RBC... easy.... it's up to us to make this thing a success also!!!

The question keeps coming up.... does the meac know how to run a tournament?? there are things the meac could learn from the ciaa... ask the ciaa for some input... don't work against one another.... work with one another!!!
1) find a way to get the crowd to the arena.... have a free concert at the complex site while the games are going on.... or charge $10-$12 and let the people with concert ticket stubbs into the upper deck after the concert!! but find a way to get people in the arena!!!
2) winston salem has the benton convention center where you can have multiple events going on at the same time... i doin't know if raleigh has anything like this but you need something that can get everybody to one spot or a general location to hold multiple events so everyone can party together!! in raleigh you really have to know where to go to enjoy the nite life.... everything is so spread out!!!
3) the cheerleading competition which was great i may add!!! but like pitbull posted... have competitions for the pep bands.. drumlines.. dancing girls etc... pump it up to get the school children to the arena!! maxwell had a great idea during the pep band competition where all the band directors can evaluate the local high school talent at the arena.... the theme is to get people to the arena site!!!
4) play the mens games at a later time to avoid the research triangle traffic during rush hr.!!! you have thousands of people who work at RTP... correct me if i'm wrong but we're talking about 30,000 people trying to get back to raleigh.. durham & chapel hill!!!

Maybe put a watchable product on the floor. We're in the play-in game for at least the second year in a row. It's been years since a team from the conference was above a 16 seed. We might be competitive for the first portion of a game but never a threat. Not since Hampton have we done very much.
Maybe the conference as a whole should de-emphasize football like the Pioneer League. They don't offer football scholarships but a lot of their teams do decent come basketball tournament time.

Maybe put a watchable product on the floor. I think the product is now watchable. It hasn't always been, but the top tier teams have a good product. I enjoyed the championship game from a pure basketball perspective. It was better than the CIAA championship game. Can it improve? Of course.

Let's get WSSU and NCCU together for a exhibition game of some type.... From MEACFANS.com:We were saying the same exact thing on MEACFANS.com...I think it would be a great hit....I would do it before the championship game..Have the girls game @ 1:30....then the Back Yard Basketball Brawl @ 3:30.....then the championship at 6:30pm... What do you all think?

i liked the mini concert series in between games... that was cool!! having the tom joyner morning show was a great idea.... but the meac is going to have to find a way to market the tournament to the younger crowd because they are the future blood of the tournament!! they have to find a way to make raleigh... THE SPRING-BREAK DESTINATION AMONG HBCUS!!! do what the people did who put on aggiefest back in the 80's... there would be 40,000 people on campus from all over the nation.... aggie stadium would be filled & the football field would be slam packed from the stage on one end-zone all the way to the other end-zone!!! i would meet people from oklahoma... cali... and i'd ask them "how did you find out about aggiefest?"...and they would simply reply..." the radio!!"... the meac should be advertising the tournament in every state... but first... get the social events together to attract the crowd!!!
with the improvement of bball in the meac... womens & men.... 12,000-15,000 people per night from weds. thru sat.... should be able to achieve!!!

if the teams in the meac had remained strong when each one became strong.... like mesu in the early 70's... morgan in the mid 70's... if all the schools could have kept that momemtum going to now.... the meac would be in the top 3 primere leagues in the country!!!
