Why didn't the Va. schools (vcu, old dominion, james madison, george mason as well as the MEAC locals) make an offer??? Every school wants a big guard that can play. Most can easily shoot over 5' 10" guards (A&T). So , why is it that he is slow to get feelers??

A 6-5 kid that NCA&T appears to be the only school in the region to think can play D-1 basketball... He also got an offer from App State. They are a very good mid-major program. He ended up with D2 Tusculum

i dont know whether it's a case of getting overlooked, or is it that kids are making a decision based on whether they will get playing time as a freshman....i know dell's son started this year as a freshman...i dont know if manor started last year, but it's about playing....i also read that VA Tech wanted dell's son to walk on because they thought he was too small to play the 2 guard...it's all in what the coaches like...

Based on his junior year I think we'd have to consider him a late bloomer. If we're interested perhaps we should go ahead and offer. Primarily I'd like to see us sign a couple of good big men.

Tristan Harris, a 6'8 235lb center from Wilmington's Hoggard High is hoping we offer him a scholarship. I don't know the skill level of the kid but he definitely has the size to help us in the middle. He had to compete against a 7' center from New Hanover, so he's probably not bad. I think we should sign him. www.wilmingtonstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070307/NEWS/703070464/1017/news0102This area of NC & SC has some talent for football and basketball. It's definitely being under-recruited. Our coaches could grab a lot of kids that could help the programs if they recruited there more often. You got these schools in the area: Wilmington's New Hanover, Hoggard, Laney, Whiteville, East Bladen, West Columbus, South Columbus, Tabor City, West Brunswick, North Brunswick, South Brunswick, Pender, Burgaw In SC, Loris, Dillion, Conway, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Mullins, Socastee, Marion, Georgetown, Latta, Aynor

We have four scholarsips available and we need to sign at least two or three big men. Use the other scholarship for a combo guard cause we are heavy at forward.

If Harris made the NC-SC game then he's a player. There are no scrubs in that game. Lord knows we're better than Longwood and he would give us what we need on the boards. I agree kev that at least two of those scholarships have got to go to big men. I would like to have another point and a shooting guard since Ewing and Rush will be gone after next year.
McEachin would give us a big post up guard who could go inside or hit the outside shot. Hampton loaded up last year with a big recruiting class and they are top heavy at the two and three spots.

Hillside High has a combo guard 6'3 185 Jared Grady that average 19.4 points a game this year. I have the inside track on him because he is my cousin. His basketball coach does not help with the getting the kids recruited and a lot of schools have missed out on him. I told him that I want him to come A&T but, now Delaware St., Delaware, Unc Wilmington, UNCG and Hampton are offering him. I just hope Eaves can have a good recruiting class www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx5dooq1UEg

Eaves has his work cut out in recruiting, because he too is top heavy with guards and 6' 5" and under players. Those players listed as 6' 6" and 6' 7" fall into that category of 6" 5". How he solves his problem will be interesting drama for all of us fans. Do any of you think that Eaves should have given Johnson and Alston more playing time??

Wake Forest has got a 6'9" forward and a 6'1" guard transferring and has not decided on a school yet.

Yeah. Read that in today's paper. There may be some other players out there that are not getting the playing time that they desire and are looking for a smaller program.
Let's hope that Eaves can get a couple of good solid big people.

Curry and Maynor were not over looked by mid majors..but until someone mentioned app state, only d-3 schools were mentioned w/ regard to Mceachin...go for him Aggies, maybe he is a steal and late bloomer...size is definitely needed in the back court...but get the 6-8 235 kid and a juco post player....
