Do we get a top 5 seed and avoid the first round games?
A&T SCSU NSU Hampton
We went 3-2 against the other three so we may be ok.

Based on head to head matcups I think we are guaranteed no lower than a #5 seed. If Morgan loses to Coppin on Saturday then we will move up to a #4 seed.......I think.

Looks like I'm wrong. Right now we're sitting on the #6 seed. We need Morgan to lose to Coppin to move up to #5.

This might sound funny but if we finish sixth it might be good for the tournament and good for us. We get an easy game under the belt with UMES so we can get the jitters out before we play the #3 seed plus bring some fans in the early rounds to help fill the place.

Eaves is like Tina Turner during the intro of the Pary Mary song. He doesn't like to do anything the easy way.
We might mess around and lose to UMES if we have a play-in game. We need a bye.

DESPITE WEDNESDAY LOSSES, AGGIES EARN BYE
Men and women will monitor what happens at Coppin State Saturday
GREENSBORO, March 1, 2007 – The North Carolina A&T men’s basketball team might become Coppin State for a day – Saturday to be exact. Currently, the Aggies are in a four-way tie with Hampton, S.C. State and Norfolk State. The only game remaining that will affect N.C. A&T’s seed in the MEAC Tournament is Morgan State at Coppin State. Morgan State stands at 10-7 in the conference. If the Bears were to lose to Coppin State on Saturday, there would be a five-way tie for third place. The MEAC tiebreaker rule states that the team with the best record against teams who are tied earns the higher seed. In the five-game scenario those teams are S.C. State and N.C. A&T with 4-3 records against the tied teams, which ignites another tiebreaker scenario. The conference will then take the teams’ record against the highest ranked team in the standings. Neither S.C. State nor N.C. A&T defeated Delaware State, which drops it down to the next highest team. The Aggies swept Florida A&M during the season and the Bulldogs did not. That gives N.C. A&T the No. 3 seed and puts them in a likely showdown against the winner of No. 6 Norfolk State and No. 11 Maryland-Eastern Shore Thursday at 6 p.m. If the Aggies find themselves in a four-way tie, thanks to a Morgan State win, they will be the No. 4 seed and will play S.C. State Thursday at 8 p.m.
The women’s scenario is a little less complicated. There could be a three-way tie for second between Delaware State, Morgan State and N.C. A&T at 12-6. The Aggies could finish as the No. 2 seed in that scenario. If Morgan State were to pull of the upset over Coppin State, the N.C. A&T women would be the No. 2 seed because the Aggies and Delaware State would both have a 2-1 record against the teams in the tiebreaker.
Neither the Hornets nor the Aggies defeated Coppin State, so the next highest team not in the tiebreaker is Hampton. The Hornets split with the Pirates, while the Aggies earned the sweep. If Morgan State loses on Saturday, the Aggies will be the three seed because in a two-way tie they lose the tiebreaker to the Hornets.
If the Aggies are the No. 2 seed, they will play Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., against the winner of the No. 7 Maryland-Eastern Shore or Howard (that seed has yet to be determined) vs. Norfolk State game. If they are the three seed, they will play Thursday at noon against the No. 6 Florida A&M/No. 11 Bethune-Cookman winner.

If you look at the official MEAC standings as they exist today, A&T will have a bye. The only senario that will shift A&T's seed will be the outcome of Saturday's game between MSU and Coppin. It appears that we will have a bye regardless, the seed may change (favorable or unfavorable) based on the outcome. However, it would have been much easier, if we had been able to win 1 or 2 from the cellar dwellers. GO AGGIES!!!!

According to conference rules we have a bye. I hope the bye works in our favor. With the parity in the conference anybody can win the tournament.

Coppin Men & Women teams beat Morgan. Does that mean both of our teams will be seeded #3 at the tournament?
