I saw the game on television and it was great. I was really proud of my Aggies. I can only imagine what we could do with more money. Rob Daniels is an idiot. I mean this guy is supposed to be providing homer coverage. Even in a benign article about a great night for A&T he cannot resist taking his negative pot shots. It will not change until someone in our administration has a serious conversation with his editor or the Managing Editor. Talking to the editors won't help. He's giving A&T the type of coverage they think we deserve. If it's not about the ACC then it's insignificant. Craig Greenlee was the only reporter to give us quality coverage and I believe the powers that be at the N&R weren't very supportive. I believe they will only give us good coverage when we are doing so well (23-8) that it can't be ignored.

I was sitting next to Rob for a good part of the game, he was so upset that I was watching the National Championship game on my laptop and he couldn't log into the A&T wireless network (cause he's not a student)
I'm not a fan of his writing or the dumbass questions he asks in press conferences but I think he did his fair share of sugarcoating loses so for one writer to another, that ish gets old and he really doesn't SMASH the team like he could because if it were up to me, I'd be kind of ruthless.

A&T has made so many bad decisions regarding athletics it ain't even funny---- we deserve to get bashed in the papers. Ed Hardin's bashing of the way we treated Coach Small was not taken too kindly by Aggies but he was right on point. Our AD was so gun-ho on firing Small she had no clue how far that idiotic decision would set the department back.... and you have the nerve to get upset when critisized in the paper??? Small was an alum, you don't treat coaches the way he was treated. Did anyone really think football was going to be a success after treating people that dirty???

But not a parade of back-handed compliments when a team actually wins. As far as the Small era ... Let it go. Most of us have.

I have let it go, I just like to keep reminding you guys so history want keep repeating itself as it often does in aggieland because everyone wants to forget the past. Hey..... we all make mistakes but it's what you learn and how you bounce back from your mistakes that's important! Now the AD will be making a huge mistake if she waits untill the end of the year to resign Coach Eaves. Why??? Because she would cause us to lose recruits.... she has already made it too easy by waiting this long.... for coaches to come in behind us and tell a recruit "you don't want to go to A&T all they do is fire coaches"! We've already lost a 6-7 kid and thats exactly what he was told!! Advice to those of you who make decisions... create a board of head coaches to run those decisions threw..... that way you can get the TRUE pros & cons of how it would effect their programs and the athletic department as a whole!!!

Truthseeker, I agree. The recruiting game is a dog eat dog game and other coaches will trash competing schools any chance they get in order to influence a recruit. Even high school coaches will do the same.
It would be interesting to see a post-analysis of recruits lost, why and to whom. Then contrast that to signees and why they came to A&T.

The mistakes, as I see them, were the hiring of Small in the first place, and allowing Hayes to hang around as long as we did!

I'm gonna trust Ms. Todd on this one because we don't know that she isn't trying to re-sign Coach Eaves. Besides she has to factor in more than his recent performance before making such a decision. I'd like to see us keep him and suspect she's working toward that.

You usually don't usually see HBCU coaches getting offered contract extensions before the final year of their contract is almost over.
I'm not saying Todd shouldn't go ahead and give Eaves a new deal immediately; I'm just saying I can't remember the last time a coach in his situation has gotten a mid-season extension.

Thrilla, Del State is the exception and you know Fang of Coppin State isn't going to be let go anytime soon. You can't continue to operate like the old days. A lot HBCUs are still stuck in the 70's and early 80's when it comes to the business side of athletics. I don't mean to say HBCUs should spend money like crazy. You just have to be a little innovative and you have to know exactly where you stand and what you can do to advance your programs. It is a tricky proposition to handle. This is why it takes good people to make a program successful.
Dex, there are some people who are looking at Eaves win average of the last three years and ask why the extension. The answer of 'yes' to a contract extension is an extensive one and its one of those anwers that is best given in a live question and answer session.

If you've seen a game, you know why. When you realize someone will snatch him up, you know why.

Do you know hat 6-7 kid NCA&T lost because of the failure to extend the contract? Damn......this team needs some 6-7 types that can play....Will NCA&T be good enough to avoid the play in Morgan just beat Hampton at Hampton and ECU in their place...who are the Aggies better than? BCCU?? NFS??? The AD seems to be between a rock....do you extend a contract and the team plays the rest of the way like @ BCCU or do you chance it and he wins the MEAC and takes another job? Contract or no contract, he could leave right??? Capel had a contract..A sweep in Florida might have made the extension easy...that would have been the longest winning streak since ? Wills has got take more than 5 shots
