Do any of you think that the board will or should reconsider putting Renick's name back on the School of Ed. Building? I know a lot of us had plenty to say about this issue when it first happened but since then we have not heard any more talk about it. I just wonder if it had happen while school was still in session would the students have protested, considering how much he was beloved by so many students?

Yeah man, I loved Renick and I didn't fully know his politics or what he did behind the scenes but as a chancellor, a person and an ambassador to this university, he was great. If this happened during the school year, you better believe that the news would have a story for a couple of days definitely.
PUT HIS NAME BACK ON IT

I am not a Anti Speight but having said that this was her lowest point of her career.
Talk about ridiculous. And then she's going to blame it on a technicality. That's her fault. She's the dam chairman on the board.

Renick is not angry about this situation, he's just very disappointed because this man really loves A&T. I hope he attends every football game and show those haters that he is not affected by what they did. It would really be something if next year's graduating class invites Renick to speak at their graduation. Man, that would be reality TV at it's best!!!!!

If the removal happened while my term in an elected SGA Office occurred, I would've considered protesting it if the students wanted it. (Luckily, it happened right after my term ended) However, there wasn't a campaign, or push for it to happen because many of us (enlightened Aggies) were and still are trying to fully understand everything that he did, that wasn't completely beneficial for the University.
However, I think his name should be on the building. He is still Chancellor Emeritus. He should be respected, even if acting on behalf of UNC System President, Molly Broad, he did things to A&T that put us in a horrible situation that we're in now. He was a duly selected Chancellor and should be respected for the good he did.
Now, what we have to deal with is the 3 years that Dr. Battle and friends have to bring back to A&T to the point were the General Administration and Board of Governors feel that it should be. If not, in 3 years we'll be looking for a new Chancellor.

Horrible situation in comparison to the schools in the UNC System, most especially to our peer doctoral/research intensive universities. (ECU, UNC-C, UNC-G)
*Retention and 4yr Graduation Rates are nearly at the bottom in the System and in our peer group *Admission requirements were disregarded (now for 08-09, it will be 2.0 and 1200 SAT) *Enrollment Targets *Incompetent and Under qualified Faculty in some areas due to hiring freezes
Horrible, may have not been the best adjective. Nor am I solely blaming Renick. I'm just looking at the facts that I'm compiling for my Senior project...but horrible works... but it could be alot worse. Alot worse. ( Just hearing about the Title III audit at FSU should make people cry.)

Thanks for your explaination!!! But I still feel A&T is in petty good shape, sure it could be better but I feel good about where we are.
