I guess those two basketball players weren't the only students experiencing classroom problems at A&T these days. Something has to be done to improve the academic support system currently in place. One out of four is not merely an aberration. Remember when I said the two basketball players were probably a fair representation of the general student population? Anyways, this is what happens when you have unchecked growth. At some point it's going to come back and bite you in the azz. The good thing is that we're finally focusing on trying to straighten things out.

I agree with Dex. Let's clean up the academics and put some responsibility on our young people to do what they need to do.
Try studying.

P.S. Guess how many advisors we have for 10,000 students. Here's a hint, it's less than half as many as Morgan has for half as many students and they are making on average less than 15-20,000 per year less than the advisors at Winston.

I just don't like the fact that they lumped all students together wheather they were making good grades or bad grades just because they were not on schedule to graduate on time. Those students that are not making passing grades are either just lazy or they were just not college material in the beginning. I heard one of the administrators say that they were just trying to light a fire under the students. Thats all well and good but sometime fires can burn out of control. Lets just hope that this fire help the students do what they need to do. It's in their best interest to do so.

My friends that graduated from A&T said they did not use advisors. If they wanted to drop a class, they let a friend sign for the advisor. The woman in the article said she was in a tense situation at her apt. Would that situation have changed if the advisor told her to stay in the class. We are talking advisors....My advisor gave me advice, I made the choice.....Teacher friends @ NCA&T say that students in general do not seek out thier advisors in person or by email. They call for the pin number but not advice. ..ONE GUY SAID HE CALLED A STUDENT AT HOME WHO OVERSLEPT HIS FINAL , WENT TO OLD sCOTT Hall to find a student who kept missing his class...of course they could be lying and the faculty at A&T really do not give a damn as many of you seem to imply.
