News - Local - Greensboro Monday, June 19, 2006 Student attacked at N.C. A&T campus
Print this article Email this Article From Staff Reports GREENSBORO — An N.C. A&T student was in surgery for neck and back injuries suffered in a lunch hour attack in front of the university's student union, officials said this afternoon.
A&T and Greensboro police were looking for four men in their late teens or early 20s who fled in a maroon Toyota Camry.
The victim's name and condition were not immediately released.
The assault took place on the portico by the student union's main entrance. Witnesses said several men and at least two women had gathered around a stone table and benches on the patio.
At some point, a scuffle broke out, which quickly escalated to several attackers beating the victim on the concrete. One of the victim's friends helped him to the campus infirmary.
Police and paramedics were called shortly after 12:30 p.m. Emergency crews took the victim to Moses Cone Hospital.
That was one of my ppl from QC and basically the dude that did is on the run from GPD and a bunch of Charlotte niggas, he was in ICU til today, he got stabbed in the neck but he seems to be ok now...
The story told to me was dude came up with some other ppl and told "the victim" that he wanted a one on one with him, after the victim told him YOU KNOW THATS NOT GONE HAPPEN BRUH, things got outta hand
Incidents like this make a case for a closed campus or at least more closed. The city streets are little different than they were back in the day. At least there was no gun play that may have put others in jeopardy also. My prayers are with the victim.
After seeing his mug shot on the morning news today,he looks like he should be a regular behind bars or at least on "COPS" every Saturday night.
