The first two pictures are of the new Scott Hall building and parking lot, taken from Laurel Street.

The next two photos are of the new Scott hall dorms, taken from that street that runs past the basketball gyms and the Union. You can see that they have already carved out the new reflection pool that will be between both new dorm buildings. BTW: Looks like they are going to erect some tall brick structures at each corner of the reflecting pool.

This is a picture of the newly refurbished fountain in front of the Union. I assume that the water will not look like that when next semester starts up.

Finally, here's a picture of the new Science Building, taken in front of the Strickland Field House.

Thrilla, I ran into Chancellor Renick during orientation two weeks ago. I believe the brick structures are sections of the bullet wall from old Scott Hall. He wants it to be a place where students can reflect on the past, present and future. Two years from now the campus will look totally different from the old campus!

Thanx for the pics and update. As a former Scoott Hall resident, I don't kno whether to cry or cheer the new structures.
Scott Hall brought a real world essence(toughnest, craziness) to the AGGIE experience.
However, the new kids today would put up with the facilities we were dealt(bad cafe food, mobile(weed) snacks, no elevators in the dorm, the rolling hotdog and jewelry salesmen, no security, roaming 24 hour coed, absent chancellor).

I feel you aggielaw! My daughter has no clue as to how much of an adjustment we had to make back in the day. Scott Hall forced all of us to grow up quick! No AC, probably the worse beds any of us had ever slept on...etc...etc! Now they have shuttle buses, phones in the rooms, data ports, elevators and tiered classrooms. Every time I go into one of the new buildings it makes me proud. Then again, sometime I say to myself, "aw hell naw...y'all got that too"! These kids just don't know how good they have it!!

Oh, I almost forgot. We had heaters so strong that we had to crack our windows in the winter!
Let me stop before I get into some of those legendary hazing sessions. Then again, people don't pledge these days anyway.
Just pay, sign-up and well...your in.

I brought my own AC. Dean Stocks would come by and tell us that we couldn't plug-in hot dog warmers, AC's or any other electrical devices that could trip the breakers.
As as soon as he walked out of the door, we were back to doing it the Scott Hall way. Sort of like getting caught violationing coed.

Thrilla, I'm glad somebody is posting pics of what is going on this summer, because I've been checking the construction site ever since I left town in may and nothing has changed. Great shots. Have they started to erect the new scoreboard yet?

How far along are they with the new events center and the new education building? Can you get some pictures of those too?

The have just started laying some underground wiring for the scoreboard. I don't think the other building projects you mentioned have started yet but I will go by there and look again.

Thanks thrilla. The events center is right across the street from Corbett where Holt Hall used to be.
