...Stubborn & LAZY. Perhaps D.T. can go ahead and become motivated to start taking her job more seriously before Battle comes in and tells her his expectations. Hopefully she'll soon figure out that she should have some of her own. This would probably make the conversation with the new HNIC go much more smoothly.

thanks.... everyone on this board has made some good points wether i agree with some of them or not.... but one thing i've learned over the yrs. is that there is no aggie like a concerned aggie!!! if we can cause positive change in our athletic department to get it pointed in the right direction great things can be accomplished... i honestly believe a&t is here for a reason & that is to acheive great things... academics... athletics... music... you name it... we can do it!!!

econgrad71: small is not the reason football is behind... his firing is the reason fball is behind!! our athletic department could not support another firing and remain financially stable... in fact the firing of small put us in the red so bad it prevented the firing of other coaches our AD wanted to make... which in our case was a good thing... but not good for small.
like i said on other post small & his staff were not far off from having an 8-3 season... we were behind sc state & hampton a great deal... we weren't that far behind bcc & on par with everyone else...
after small was fired the AD had a chance to up grade in head coach but didn't... doug williams word carried more weight than those who worked for her.... don't any of you wonder why... even to this day... why are the names of the 5 finalist not reveiled??? was the best coach for our particular situation chosen??? i know some of you out there know the answer to that question!!!
fobbs is here & like dooms says we have to support him... i know a turn around will take time...& if fobbs can turn it around by 08 my hats of to him... he has to realize though... every program depends on his success.... except bball... those guys make their own money... hell... mens bball don't even depend on the AD... THEY MAKE .80 CENTS ON THE DOLLAR... THEY'RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK !!!!

i used to work at a&t, and one thing i know for sure; a&t always says they are looking for bright and intelligent people, but once they hire them and get them here, they dont give them the latitude to do their jobs; that is not just in athletics, but also in adminisitration....i know of one prominent and highly visisble alumni here in greensboro who has made several fundraising suggestions to the athletic department and they all have fallen on death ears....i dont know what the answer is, but one thing is for sure....all the money in the world with sub par leadership wont produce a winning program....

lovelespartan: wheeler would be a good choice for AD... from what i can gather he has the respect of the coaches... he has the common sense needed... and he could have saved our AD a lot of money if she had listened to him...

DOOMS: i'll admit that i thought DT was a good hire... i know some of you read her credentials & knew this wasn't the job for her!! to her credit she has opened up to ideas but she has some fences to mend especially to the ones with on point ideas like the coaches themselves!!! our AD has alienated people who could have made her job easier not to mention that g'boro sports commission.... here are a couple of things i'd like to see from our AD to show good faith... that she is trying to change:
1) realize the people from outside the dept. who you listen to for guidance are one reason we're in the mess we're in.... it's time to cut them lose... you have been misguided & misinformed...
2) any time someone from off the street comes up to you talking about firing coaches.. like those clowns last yr. at the meac tournament telling you to fire eaves... they have no idea about our situation... (they think our coaches have all the advantages in the world afforded to them)..... run.... get away from these clowns as fast and as far away as possible.... you'll only end up in debt if you follow their advice....
3) form a support group for the coaches... coaching is a stressful job... even on this level..... our coaches are having to keep up with the joneses without the joneses resources!!!
4) form a decision making committee consisting of your head coaches...& wheeler.... work toward getting out of debt... i'm sure they are full of ideas....... your staff meetings should be over-flowing with ideas!!!
5) ask thrilla to form a committee or formulate ideas from BD.... and meet every so often with the coaches committee to see which ideas would would be practical at the time....
6) listen to those who know... not those who think they know everything.... a quote by john wooden... " it's what i learned after i thought i knew everything is what matters"........ i may have misquoted but it makes sense....
7) better start listening to wheeler alot more often because "joe blow" off the street.... don't know s^*t.....

econgrad71: small is not the reason football is behind... his firing is the reason fball is behind!! No truth... it has more to do with Small's hiring as the reason our fball program is behind. Sure, I pulled for Small when he first came to town but quickly realized his hiring was a mistake. I saw Small as I always saw Hayes... a good man but not a good coach. Now we have Fobbs. I'm pulling just as hard for him also, now that he's aboard. I get a good feeling about this guy, that he's going to make something really positive happen for us. We should be working on Todd, making sure she gives him all the support he needs to be successful, given our significant monetary constraints. We (AGGIES) just couldn't stand another failed effort to our football program.

aggie82: i wanted to comment on your post about how "T" fires the best & the talented!!! i've heard the horror stories of people getting fired for the following:
1) doing their job...
2) not following their bosses instructions because they were unethical...
3) asking too many questions when unethical practices have been discovered....
4) knowing too much...
5) knowing more than their supervisor....
if you don't have a&t's best interest at heart.... why are you even employed there???
