who are you talkin' bout that wins 19 games every year? norfolk state? nonetheless, i'm not referring to a specific opponent as it pertains to double-headers, though i'd especially like to see it when we're playing rivalry games. but i'd prefer to see them all the time for every rivalry game and conference game when possible... WSSU men's basktetball team. That's who i'm referring too heck, ain't nobody scared of wssu, especially not this year. i say bring 'em on! norfolk state is "BETTER" than wssu, so why should we be scared of wssu? this ain't last year's team, with this year's team there is no d2 team that scares me...

Over the past 2 years the women's CAA champion lost 2 and 5 conference games respectively. That should be our goal, so we need everyone or most healthy by the 1st conference game.

i don't like to criticize players, but i have to call it the way that i see it. right now, i don't think douglas is a quality starter for us at the guard position. wow, we really need bracone back. also, other than dorsey, we don't have another player who can create her shot off the dribble. locke is very talented, but she's not a good "one-on-one" player when it comes to "creating shots". meaning, she's not gonna beat too many folk "off the dribble" one on one. to me, her best position is as a power forward. but don't get me wrong, she's a darn good player but can't do the things that tucker could do.
i think the conference anticipated that tucker would return along with bracone and dorsey. well, currently only one out of those 3 are available and it shows big time...

Norfolk State women team is the best mid major team that that I have seen so far this season in this region. Quick fast athletic and physical. That Norfolk State game is going to be interesting to see. ....hold up, ain't Norfolk still in the....you're telling me they didn't have to move to get bett....carry on; nothing to see here.

tell ya right now, i watched norfolk state's women play hampton "at hampton" and if we perform against them the way we have performed up to this point in the season, then we ain't gone beat norfolk. i saw them play, they are far better than any team we've played so far this season except for unc. if we still had bracone and tucker, then i'd be singing a different tune.
but even if bracone returns without tucker in time for the nsu game, it will improve our chances but i don't think that will be enuf. just being honest, hope like hail i'm wrong...

The missing piece of info is that as the MEAC shrunk, more non-conference games made teams better. A smaller MEAC would have been good for us also.

A smaller MEAC would have been good for us also. i don't think that's true, maxell. nsu's women emerged as an meac power in recent years but their men have "always" been strong. when vickers became their head coach in 2015, he turned their program around almost immediately and that was when all of the meac teams were still in the meac. in his first season, he inherited a losing program and had a losing meac record. that was the "only" season he had a losing record. kinda reminded me of what coach hayes said last night when he first got to a&t. nevertheless, nsu's women have been winning ever since the 2016 season and never looked back. i do not believe playing fewer meac games is why they improved. they improved because of coach vickers. just like when coach bibbs first arrived at a&t. gotta remember that our run in the wnit when we beat wake forest, unc charlotte, and came darn close to beating the acc's miami hurricanes (all on the road), we were in the meac and all of the meac teams were there. matter fact, we didn't even win the meac tounament that season which is why we got the invite to the wnit. so it doesn't take playing fewer meac games to build a midmajor "powerhouse"...

....hold up, ain't Norfolk still in the....you're telling me they didn't have to move to get bett....carry on; nothing to see here. The meac second place team made no postseason tournament.... CAA, 5 teams had post season play. Where did Norfolk go last year? The NCAA tournament as a 15 seed (not a 16 seed or play-in). Drexel (CAA tourny champ) got in the NCAA as a 16 seed. You're focused on the conference....I'm focused on singular teams/situations. Norfolk St's women's team would have been in a postseason tournament last year at 27-6. That cannot be argued, irrespective of how hard anyone would try. Would you rather be in Norfolk's women's shoes right now or A&T's women's shoes right now? Norfolk has a better shot at winning 30 games and getting an even better seed RIGHT NOW than A&T has at winning 20 games and getting in ANY POSTSEASON TOURNAMENT (feel free to argue that point). And for clarity, you ain't gonna hear me say the MEAC has an overall better women's basketball conference than the CAA ----- THEY CLEARLY DO NOT......let me repeat myself...... THEY CLEARLY DO NOT.With that being said, who's in a better situation? NORFOLK > A&T

A&T has a greater chance at post season play.

There is no way A&T has a better chance of postseason play than Norfolk based upon what we've seen to date.

They have beaten Missouri and barely lost to Alabama and they have a number of sec teams on their schedule and one ACC team without counting the decent mid majors that are on their schedule. If they continue to play at the level they are playing at they may win the MEAC and get a higher seat than 15 in the upcoming dance. They have a very tough schedule. Far tougher than ours. It's going to be an interesting game when A&T and Norfolk meet that's 4sure. .

hate to admit it, but i wasn't very impressed with our win tonight. i'm nervous about dorsey, we rely on her too much and i'm afraid that we could burn her out if we don't get more help for her soon. i was hoping that our new recruits would help more but so far, it doesn't appear that they will be "major" contributors. however, i do like yarborough, i think she needs more minutes. wow, if we don't improve significantly, we're gonna struggle in the conference. especially since the bull's eye is on our backs... Yarborough and Griffin definitely give us better options at Center, this year, over least year when we had to play undersized Laila Acox and not D1 ready Mia Hardin. I think Yarborough and Griffin's amount of play will depend on what's needed against our opponents on a situation by situation basis.

I think this harkens back to the "synergy" piece BT was referring to in another post but i just saw where Martin 2.0 is hosting a virtual townhall tomorrow night same time as the WBB game. Make it make sense. i doubt many want to hear him discuss academics. He isn't announcing the football coach is fired and i doubt he's taking questions so many won't have interest anyway Over 400 were on the call and he answered a few questions, as did a few others. Big thing was his and the Provost's explanation of our R1 status. Sounds like we won't get it until 2027 with the announcement in 2028...if all goes well/as is going. www.youtube.com/live/5XB3AQl1oW8?si=-TBfH9wrHx2Bgr07
