Lol, I think BT may need to add himself to this "synergy" concept. So now we have WBB vs. WSSU in Corbett at 7p, Chancellor town hall at 7p, and just recently added...
Stretched thin tonight

hate to admit it, but i wasn't very impressed with our win tonight. i'm nervous about dorsey, we rely on her too much and i'm afraid that we could burn her out if we don't get more help for her soon. i was hoping that our new recruits would help more but so far, it doesn't appear that they will be "major" contributors. however, i do like yarborough, i think she needs more minutes.
wow, if we don't improve significantly, we're gonna struggle in the conference. especially since the bull's eye is on our backs...

This looks like a very pedestrian team. They were playing a D2 school and committed 26 turnovers, shot 27% from three and 37% from the free throw line.A lot of work still needed.Central and Norfolk are going to present some serious problems.

Loocke was on fire.
I can't put my finger on it but somethng is still off with Clark. She seems less confident.

Not that she moves around a lot anyway but her movements are a lot slower than they were last season. It could be rust at least I hope that is the case. We are still not a quick fast team outside of Lock and Dorsey our team speed is lacking. That little guard for WSSU was just to quick and fast, she just didn't have much help .

a team that has won 19 games every yr for the last 5 years and will be motivated to knock off big brother.......... Nah no thank you who are you talkin' bout that wins 19 games every year? norfolk state? nonetheless, i'm not referring to a specific opponent as it pertains to double-headers, though i'd especially like to see it when we're playing rivalry games. but i'd prefer to see them all the time for every rivalry game and conference game when possible... WSSU men's basktetball team. That's who i'm referring too

"Committed 26 turnovers, shot 27% from three and 37% from the free throw line"... and we were ranked #17 in the pre-season poll? We notoriously start slow at the beginning of the season, but damn, that's too slow against a DII team.
It's a two-hour drive for me to attend a game in Corbett but it's hard for me to drive that distance to see that level of play. I'll hold off until they hit mid-season form.

I think the overall consensus (correct me if I'm wrong) is that this team doesn't appear to be the #1 team in the CAA. That's where we were pegged to be. Coach Rob has his job cut out for him. There has to be significant improvement with this team in order for us to meet supposed preseason expectations.

We knew D'Mya Tucker would be a huge miss with her injury but not having Malia is also having a great impact!

I went.
We made it harder on ourselves when we were cold at the FT line. We are better and that made it a tougher game. I just didnt bite us.
WSSU was scrappy, pressed most of the nite and made us play faster and made us to make quicker decisions. Those decisions are based on every player on the floor to think and move. It was a pressure like a Legit D-1 Team on us. Their Coach is getting a lot out of that Squad. Forcing turn-overs ect.
It was a good Tobacco Road workout for both Squads.
We were forced to knock down jumpers. "Big Shot" could have stopped all of that, but It fell on JD and Locke. They grew from knowing that they have the "green light" to taking over. Win your match-up when you get the moment, and make them pay. Us not having Tucker and Bracone right now has shifted the scoring. Baby Shaq will keep getting doubled. Locke went into Her bag. She will need to do that every night until the new players get on their feet.
It's Nov. The NCCU game Monday will test us again, before Liberty and Norfolk, and Dec basketball.
Coach has JD playing the # 2 position, at times, while Douglass handles the rock. JD and Locke needs to have a good night every night until Bracone comes back.
It was a good Win. Coach needs this Dec though.
WSSU Women has a nice following.
Corbett is Loud and engaged. This will be a year on the East Side.

does anyone know the prognosis of Malia's injury?
A couple of weeks ago she was in a boot but saw her on the bench last night without one, I think?
Need her back close to 100% soon....

Norfolk State women team is the best mid major team that that I have seen so far this season in this region. Quick fast athletic and physical. That Norfolk State game is going to be interesting to see.
