Former Aggie All-American Akeem Sirleaf (pictured 2nd from Left) and Team Liberia set a new national record in the men's 4 x 100 relay and Qualify for the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris, France! With Sirleaf on the lead off leg, Liberia ended a streak that kept the country from sending a relay team to the last five Olympic Games.

Looks as if he will be the only former Aggie who will be an Olympian. Hayles ) now at Fla) finished 4th in the Jamaican 400. Their 4x4 team did not run a fast enough time to make the top 16 in world and will not be there , so Hayles won’t be there. Salmon finished 7th at Jamaican championships. Her pr would have qualified her for the Olympics . So would Hayles Pr . All his times this year were slower than last year at NCAT . LJ from BCU through Tx A&M ( I think) is on team . Snowden HJ UAPB still in limbo OR not going There may be others but that is all I have now.

Roberts got silver; CONGRATULATIONS COACH Johnson ; BCU woman 6TH in LJ brave, i noticed that they have "mixed" relays at the olympics (coed relay teams). you seem to be the most knowledgeable track person on this site. so to the best of your knowledge, are there any "mixed" relays conducted at the college level? i actually like the idea, would luv to see it at the college level but i don't recall ever seeing it...

I looked for it and couldn’t find anything until 2017 related to the Olympics . I thought the Penn Relays might have something like that since they have a shuttle hurdle relay. They did not. Thanks for the compliment ( probably the most interested in track) but I yield that to someone else. … I would like a few other relays added to the Olympics .

Quanera Hayes (Livingston) will probably be the only HBCU Athlete to medal in the Olympics as a part of the women's 4x4 relay team. She may not run in the finals b/c McLaughlin -Levrone will replace someone. However, she ran the first leg in the semi-finals.

The reason why the mixed relays is not at venues here in the states is because of scheduling in a already busy event schedule for the athletes. I do know that the Penn relays and Drake are considering adding the mixed 4x4 but there is nothing definite as of yet.

Thanks, Saabman you need to hold a camp on passing the baton for USA sprinters. 😆 🤣 😂 I have too much common sense for that, because I would have stayed with the individual order that got me to the finals and wouldn't have changed the thing. What people are overlooking at is, the time that they ran in the semis would have won the gold medal. So why would you tinker with the continuity of the relay team just to add a little more speed to give another medal to an athlete that already has one. when you already have exceptional speed on that relay team already that is capable. Coach Marsh screw this up but this is not the first time for him. As the saying goes " you don't fix what is not broken" 😆 😂 🤣 Also Kenny look confused I really don't think he knew where his marks were in the zone. After his second stride he should have extended to receive the stick but he didn't do that until like his third or fourth stride by then he was almost out of the zone so he Throttle Down to a stop, you Throttle Down but you never stop 😆. I was always taught to use your marks but you also use verbal by the incoming Runner. Two strides yelling stick and keep yelling stick until it is passed. This alerts the runner to extend to receive the Baton but that is how I was trained and that is how I train my runners yes I use markers but I rely on the verbal also.
