For the last decade WBB has been very good winning 18-20 games every year. But as our best program it is still missing something to move it to 25+ wins every season like elite programs do. What is it?
Is it infrstructure? Facilities? Stable Staff? Recruiting Budget? Coaching? or were we just a few injuries away this seasn?
This year's ending was exciting but does next year's tem have what it takes to get over the top and have a 8-2 OOC record or better out of the gate. The days of writing off November and Decemberas prep games should be over.
What say you?

All things start and end with recruiting the right Talent. All of the above are necessary don't get me wrong. But it all starts with the talent and the coaching and development of that Talent, Because without the right Talent and coaching your program is just a program with great facilities.
Coach Rob has the coaching talent but just need the right pieces in certain positions. Is no doubt in my mind that coach Rob can win the CAA championship outright with the talent on hand, but the national stage is a completely different animal.

They are just so so close every year. The more I look at it, most teams we lose to has better 3-pt shooting. I'm not sure if that is talent, development, or discipline.

Recruiting & LUCK (avoiding significant injuries/loss of players, hitting big shots, not missing so many easy shots, etc.).
I'll stop at those 2.

They are just so so close every year. The more I look at it, most teams we lose to has better 3-pt shooting. I'm not sure if that is talent, development, or discipline. You left out speed at the guard position. We have adequate speed and quickness but not that flat out first step speed at the guard position. Most of the teams that we have lost to have guards that were far quicker then us that could either go to the rim or go to the rim drawing a defense and then kick out to there are three point shooters. Yes we need good three-point shooters but we need that speed to setup the uncontested threes. |

i would say that the only thing missing is a midmajor "superstar", someone who can score "at will" at our level that could've played at any power 5 school. didn't say a power 5 "superstar", but a midmajor "superstar".
imo, we've never had a midmajor "superstar" but to me, that's what would put us "over the top". we already have enough talent to win a conference championship but to me, putting us "over the top" means more than winning a conference championship. to me that means being able to beat a "top 25" ranked team and/or advance beyond the 1st round of march madness...

A&T is already the early pick to win the CAA based on Charlie Creme too early 2025 Bracketology. With the potential talent on this team,I think one of the keys will be to get everyone to buy in to their role. I don't think anyone will be playing huge minutes. Maybe we will have a potential "Superstar" on this team but she may need developing. |

I vaguely remember her from my freshman year, but I thought Shareka Glover was pretty good. She put up a lot of points for us during the 02-06 seasons.

(Jan. 23, 2006)-North Carolina A&T’s Shareka Glover scored 26 of her game-high 45 points in the second half to lead the host Aggies to an 87-78 victory over Morgan State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game at Corbett Sports Center. Glover, whose 45 points broke the school’s single-season record of 42 set by Melvetta Johnson in 2001, shot 15-of-31, including 8-of-16 from three-point range. Glover also connected on 7-of-8 free throws and finished with seven rebounds and four assists. Glover scored 16 of N.C. A&T’s final 20 points, including four consecutive treys, to help the Aggies (4-12, 4-3 MEAC) reclaim the lead and close out the game on a 20-9 run. |
