Blue Death Valley, why isnโt Thanos playing? I do recall his hitting the floor late against Hofstra and favoring his right leg/knee/ankle, but he finished the game.
We still canโt get much out of Murphy. He HAS made a few 1 foot baskets, but heโs rarely in position to get an offensive or defensive rebound & he is getting pushed around by smaller guys.
I hope he, Thanos, & Felton LIVE at AWOL Fitness beginning in March. Shucks, the entire athletic department could stand a 12-month bid in there!

Can we get some rebounds? We don't jump, we reach! UNCW players were jumping all over the play and snatching the ball mid-air!! Come on coach. You can coach better than that.

Is it the coach ๐ค or is it the individual player ๐ค. You can coach and emphasize effort but it is up to the player to use and incorporate the effort. You can't teach effort to an individual they have to either have it or develop it. You could see coach Ross on the sideline basically saying exactly what you stated above to his players, especially the big men. At some point you can't put everything on the coach because once the players hit the floor it's all on them. You can replace them but if you're short-handed as we are with the Greek being out and the other big men, who do you replace them with.

Fellas remember, we have very limited talent this season... and what talent we do have, a lot of them are hurt. The fact that this team played hard in the first half of this game and kept the game close is to be admired. We've won more games and played better basketball this season than most of us expected. Based on last year's sh*tshow, and the mass player exodus at last season's end, I expected this year's team to be awful. Well, I've been pleasantly surprised. And the best part of this season, is we have a coach that knows what he's doing. Let's all take a deep breath and hope we are able to recruit some more talent. If coach can fill a few holes, this time next season we may be arguing over the cost of CAA Tournament tickets.

Coaches teach players how to box out their man, but they can't teach height and the aggressiveness some kids bring to the game (inner drive). Dennis Rodman could not match-up with Shaq size, but he averaged more rebounds per game than Shaq. Heart and desire to go get that ball, plus great anticipation of knowing how the ball will come off the rim. Similar situation with point guards that constantly breakdown a defense with their drives. Their vision, IQ, and seeing things before they happen trumps those kids that are just as athletic and skilled.
